Numerous bicycles, tools seized during execution of Search Warrant

Source: Brandon Police Service Media Release At approximately noon, a 26-year-old male was arrested for possession of stolen property when he was observed in the 300 block of Park Avenue on a stolen bicycle. His arrest led to members of the major crime unit obtaining and executing a search warrant at his residence on 5 Street. Numerous bicycles and parts as well as a number of tools that had been reported stolen were seized during the execution of the warrant. The male, from Brandon was charged with possession of property obtained by crime and was released for court in December

Male arrested for Possession of Property Obtained by Crime/Possession of Controlled Substance

Source: Brandon Police Service Media Release On October 2nd, police attended an address on Willowdale Crescent to assist Brandon Fire at a possible overdose. While in attendance, police discovered a quantity of fentanyl, a quantity of methamphetamine and cash. A number of bicycles were also found that had been reported stolen. The 42-year-old male occupant was located on Sunday and arrested for possession of property obtained by crime and possession for the purpose of trafficking (fentanyl). The male also had an outstanding warrant for his arrest for failing to appear in court. He was arrested and released and will appear in court in December.

Police investigate multiple break and enters

Source: Bandon Police Service Media Release On October 17, 2020 police received a report of a Break and Enter to a garage in the 400 block of 23rd Street.  A number of power tools were stolen.  No suspects have been developed at this time.  The investigation is ongoing. On October 17, 2020 police received a report of a Break and Enter to a garage in the 700 block of 14th street.  Once inside the garage, a vehicle was entered and an unknown amount of change stolen from it.  At the time of the report it was unknown if any other property was stolen.  The investigation is ongoing.

Search warrant nets Fentanyl, Meth, & cash

Source: Brandon Police Service Media release On October 14, 2020, members of BPS Major Crime Unit and Organized Crime Section conducted a search warrant at a residence in the 100 block of 10 street shortly before 2:00 pm.  They located Fentanyl and Meth as well as $4500 cash.  Arrested was a 33-year-old male.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on charges of Possess for the Purpose of Trafficking.

6th & Rosser Crash Sends Two to Hospital

A crash between a pickup truck and a taxi sent two people to hospital on Sunday afternoon. The t-bone crash happened in the intersection of 6th Street and Rosser Ave. Brandon Fire and Emergency Services along with Brandon Police Service responded to the crash. One person was helped onto a stretcher by firefighter/paramedics and placed in an ambulance. The taxi's airbags were set off due to the collision, and fluids were leaking from the pickup truck. Firefighter/paramedics deployed sand to help soak up spilt fluids.
