Source: Brandon Police Service Media Release On June 18th, 2019, police received a complaint from a man indicating his credit card had been lost over the weekend and used at several locations throughout the city. Police were able to identify a suspect through video surveillance. On June 19th, 2019, a 42 year old Brandon man was arrested for the incident. He was released for court on August 15th, 2019.

Suspect arrested in Brandon after stolen vehicle left running, abandoned

Source: Brandon Police Service Media Release At 6:05am police were called to the 1000’ block of 2nd Street for a male who was damaging property and checking car doors. Police located the suspect, a 43 year old Brandon man, and he provided a false name. While dealing with the male, police received a complaint of a motor vehicle that had been abandoned and left running a few blocks away. The vehicle was found to be stolen and police were able to link the suspect to the vehicle through video surveillance. He was arrested and lodged at BCC to be released later in the day for court on August 12th, 2019.

Shoplifting suspect caught outside business with quantity of merchandise

Source: Brandon Police Service Media Release At 2:20pm, police were called to a business in the 900’ block of 18th Street North for a female shoplifter. Upon arrival, police located the 38 year old suspect outside the store with a quantity of merchandise. She was also found to have a warrant of arrest for failing to comply with probation and failing to attend court. She was arrested and lodged at BCC for court on June 18th, 2019.

Brandon police investigating after anti-Semitic graffiti found at local schools

Source: Brandon Police Service Media Release Police attended Linden Lanes School and Vincent Massey High School on Saturday during the day, as the exterior walls of both buildings had been spray pained overnight. Both buildings were targeted with racist was well as anti-Semitic comments and logos, and other hateful and vulgar comments sometime between 4:30 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. on Saturday. From video surveillance a lone male, possibly in his mid to late teens or early 20’s, was identified on site as being the person responsible. The male was wearing a black or navy sweater or track jacket with a hood and 2 red or orange stripes on each sleeve extending from the shoulder to the wrist, as well as some red or orange striping along the seams of the torso, a black ball cap with a red peak, a black bandana over his face, black pants and shoes, a white hoodie or sweater underneath the outer dark hoodie, and was carrying a black backpack with orange writing across the front. The spray paint used was black, blue, and white in colour. No suspect has been identified as of yet. Brandon Police: Pair arrested on drug trafficking charges

Source: Brandon Police Service Media Release Two people were taken into custody as a result of a traffic stop at 1:25 a.m., Saturday morning. Both subjects were arrested and removed from the vehicle when open liquor was observed in plain view within the vehicle interior. Once outside the vehicle the male occupant removed a ringing cellular telephone from his pocket which he dropped to the ground and stomped on. This action destroyed the phone and rendered it inoperable. The members continued to search the vehicle incidental to the original arrest and found just over $13,000 cash, 1 ounce of cocaine, and 43 grams of crack cocaine. A 35 year old male from Edmonton was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre to be remanded today. A 31 year old Brandon female was released to appear in court in August. Both are charged with possession of cocaine and crack cocaine for the Purpose of trafficking, and possession of proceeds of crime.
