Provincial support for newcomers

Brandon East MLA Len Isleifson and Brandon West MLA Reg Helwer today announced that the Manitoba Government is investing in services that support newcomers in our city. Manitoba Education and Training is investing up to $3.1 million in newcomer support services across the province. This funding is a re-investment of revenue generated by Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program application fees. In the City of Brandon, this includes funding for Brandon School Division programs that support older refugee youth. “I am pleased that our Progressive Conservative government is investing in services that help newcomers build a better life here in our region,” said Isleifson.  “Immigration is a driver of economic growth and directly benefits our community. These investments will further enhance the services that newcomers depend on,” added Helwer. For more information on the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program, please visit www.immigratemanitoba.com.
