Brandon man facing charges after alleged domestic assault

Source:  Brandon Police Service Media Release On February 19th, 2019 at 9:49 am police attended to a domestic assault complaint in the North end of Brandon. As a result of the complaint, police arrested a 25 year old Brandon man and charged him with 4 counts of Domestic Assault from different dates as well as Assault with a Weapon. The man was lodged at BCC and will appear in Brandon Court on February 20th, 2019.

Brandon woman charged with Fraudulent Use of Credit Card

Source:  Brandon Police Service Media Release On February 18th, 2019 police arrested a 36 year old Brandon woman for Possession of Property Obtained by Crime as well as Fraudulent Use of Credit Card. Police had received a complaint on February 11th, 2019 that a victim’s credit card had gone missing. The bank later advise that victim of multiple transactions made with the card which eventually led to the arrest of the accused. The accused was arrested and released on a PTA to appear in Brandon Court on April 11th, 2019

13yr old male youth accused of hitting victim with a shovel, punching him

Source:  Brandon Police Service Media Release On Sunday evening at approximately 8:40pm, Police received a report of a male youth at a south end residence with a weapon. The male assaulted another male by punching and hitting him with a shovel. The male also had a BB gun pistol in his possession. Police attended the area and located the male youth. Police arrested and lodged a 13yr old Brandon male youth to appear in Court on February 18th.

Police: Man arrested after attempting to flee in stolen vehicle

Source:  Brandon Police Service Media Release On Sunday afternoon at approximately 1:00pm, Police received information of a suspended male driver was operating a motor vehicle southbound in the 300 block of 18th Street North. Police attended to the area and upon seeing the Police, the suspect vehicle turned east onto McGregor Avenue and led Police on a pursuit that travelled back onto the 18th Street Daley Overpass and east on Pacific Avenue under the 18th Street Daley Overpass. The suspect vehicle lost control and the two suspects were apprehended inside the vehicle. The speeds were less than 70 kms and traffic was very light. Police had learned, during the pursuit, that the vehicle was stolen from Winnipeg. The male passenger was found to have in his possession a folding knife contrary to his Probation Order. The male driver, a 24yr old Winnipeg man was arrested for Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle, Flight Whlie Pursued and Drive While Disqualified. The male was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre to appear in Court on February 18th. The male passenger, a 28yr old Rivers, Mb man was arrested for Possession of Property Otained by Crime and Fail to Comply with Probation Order. The male was released to appear in Court on March 18th.

Woman charged with impaired driving following call reporting car in a ditch

Source:  Brandon Police Service Media Release On Saturday morning, at about 6:25 AM, a 911 call was received reporting a car in the ditch in the 4000 block Victoria Avenue East.  When members attended, the female driver showed signs of impairment and she was subsequently brought back to BPS where she provided breath samples.  The tests resulted in readings of a blood alcohol content of approximately one and one-half times the legal limit. The 24 year-old Carberry resident was charged with impaired driving and drive over .08, and was released to appear in court on February 21st.
