Vehicle vs Child Accident

On April 22nd at 3:28 pm Police were called to a child versus vehicle accident in the 2400 block of Victoria Avenue. Several witnesses advised police that a four-year-old male child ran from a business parking lot on the north side of Victoria Avenue. The child ran into the side of a trailer that was being towed by a half ton truck. The truck was westbound. The child was transported to Brandon Regional Health Center and then STARS transported the child to the Winnipeg Children’s Hospital in serious but stable condition.

Assault by choking

On April 21st at 5:41 pm a 23-year-old female attended to the Brandon Police Station to report that she had been punched and choked by a family member. A 30-year-old male was arrested and later released for court on June 24th, 2024.

Suspect Charged for attempting to stab an Officer

At approximately 8:17pm, Friday evening, Police were called to a hotel on 18th St. N after a male patron had reportedly punched another male in the face. The suspect, who had fled before Police arrived was located in the area, but instantly became aggressive. He attempted to punch one of the responding officers and then pulled knife and swung at the other officer with the knife, narrowly missing him. A successful Taser deployment enabled Police to gain control of the combative suspect. A 34yr old Brandon man will appear in Court today after being charged with Assault PO, Assault PO with a weapon, Resist Arrest, and other weapons related charges.
