Late afternoon on Friday, Brandon Fire and Emergency Services and Brandon Police Service responded to the 500 block of Middleton Ave for a garbage truck on fire, inside of a structure. A garbage truck was on fire inside the business, but it was able to be backed out into the business's lot to protect the structure. Fire crews arrived to find heavy smoke showing from the garbage truck, and immediately started fire suppression efforts. Workers were able to empty the truck's load onto the ground to allow firefighter/paramedics to gain access to the fire. Crews used a combination of water and foam to help douse the flames in the burning trash. There appeared to be no damage caused to the structure, and there were no reports of injuries. MyoFix Therapy Opens Soon in Brandon

Blair McDonald is never scared of a challenge. BDNMB had a chance to speak with Blair today about his new massage therapy business MyoFix. One question that comes to mind right away Blair, are you worried about the competitive landscape your industry has?  "No not at all I am confident not only in my business skills but also my customer service..ask NHL / AHL players like Ryan White or Zach Whitecloud what I have done to help them". So, you are doing things differently?  "My approach and focus on relief of pain and correcting posture is number 1 to me". Why do this Blair?  "When I was 15 I had lots of back and disk issues so I want to look after people and help them with the same problems". This is early in the process but any thoughts of getting bigger or expansion?  "Yeah I can expand if I find the right person or people to carry my vision". How are you getting the word out about your business?  "For now online marketing like Facebook and Instagram and a website will come in the next few months but for now I am using only online platforms". Some quotes from his clients. “I first started at MyoFix in the summer during a very important off-season before my first professional hockey season. Looking after my body in the gym, kitchen, and at the rink are all vital to longevity and success, but so is recovery away from all that. Blair helped my body recover from the grueling weeks of training and be prepared for skating, training, or just a recovery day or weekend” - Zach Whitecloud “MyoFix was a crucial part of my last off-season, it kept me pain-free and running at 100%. I’m so happy I found Blair to give me that extra edge during the intense summer months of training” - Jayce Hawryluk Of note, MyoFix will issue receipts for people that have coverage as he is accredited to provide this service.
