The Brandon Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance in locating this person who is: “WANTED BY POLICE”: Riley ALLEN FOR Sexual Assault, Sexual Interference, Uttering Threats.  Between the 19th of July, 2018 and the 29th of February, 2020, Riley ALLEN did for sexual purpose touch a person under the age of 16 years and commit a sexual assault. Additionally, ALLEN uttered threats to cause serious bodily harm to the same victim. Riley ALLEN’s whereabouts are unknown at this time, please contact Brandon crime stoppers with any information. ***************** CRIME OF THE WEEK for March 8, 2024 On 2024-03-02 at approximately 1830 hours, the two suspects pictured below gained entry into an apartment building in the 1300 block of Princess Ave, where they then attempted to break into laundry machines causing some damage. The suspects then gained entry into an apartment within the building and proceeded to steal multiple items. On March 4th, 2024, the City of Brandon initiated a comprehensive snow removal operation due to the significant snowfall experienced over the weekend. Besides managing the 30cm of snow that fell over the weekend, our teams are also contending with the snowfall and windy conditions of today. So far, the crews have successfully cleared 115 kilometers of roads, 39 kilometers of cycling paths, and 20 kilometers of pedestrian walkways. The critical P1A Route has been completed, and crews have now started working on the P1 Route. In regular circumstances, today’s snowfall amounts would have set crews back to clearing the P1A Route. However, as several residential areas are under more than 40 cm of snow, the City’s Streets & Roads crews will continue clearing the P1 Route. Sometime tomorrow crews will proceed into residential zones barring unforeseen circumstances, with the first focus going into Zone C, encompassing residential streets north of Pacific Avenue.  Once Zone C is complete, crews will move on to clearing Zone B. To facilitate thorough cleaning in your zone, residents are requested not to park on the street during snow clearing operations. Sidewalk & Path Clearing was completed, but due to the additional snow fall and windy conditions, crews will be clearing these areas again. Backlane Clearing has been completed. Crews will continue to address any problem areas that pop up. The City of Brandon appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation during this winter storm. Due to rapidly deteriorating conditions Brandon School Division buses will not be operating outside the City of Brandon for the afternoon of Wednesday, March 6th. Please call your child’s school to arrange for pickup or billeting. Buses will be running within the city; however, there may be some delays due to the weather and road conditions. We will provide an update in the morning with regards to whether rural schools will be open and if rural transportation will be running.

On March 4th at 2:38 pm Police were called to a business in the 900 block of 18th street north for an assault. Police arrested a 39-year-old male. The accused had punched a 37-year-old male in the face. The victim was a loss prevention officer for the business. No serious injuries were reported. The accused was released for court on May 27th, 2024.

Brandon, MB – In response to the substantial snowfall over the weekend, the City of Brandon has mobilized all its snow clearing equipment and staff for an all-out-snow-clearing operation. With over 30 centimeters of snow accumulation in the past 24 hours, the Operations division is working around the clock, 24 hours a day to restore normalcy.  City crews are concentrating their efforts on clearing the critical P1A Route. Commencing at midnight last night, these dedicated crews started working until every city street is clear. Additional City staff from other sections have been reassigned to support the snow-clearing endeavors. Furthermore, the City of Brandon has reached out to multiple contractors to bolster snow removal efforts.  The City is also actively working on clearing snow from residential backlanes. Due to the substantial accumulation of snow, crews are loading and hauling snow out of the lanes, which may cause clearing efforts to take longer than usual. Backlanes are being cleared based on the Solid Waste collection schedule, ensuring that residential waste collection can continue smoothly.  The City extends its heartfelt appreciation to the public for their patience and cooperation during this winter storm. Drivers are urged to exercise caution and adhere to posted speed limits when navigating snowy or icy roads.  Please be patient, we will get to your street as soon as possible.
