BPS seize semi-automatic rifle, cash, and drugs

As a result of an ongoing investigation, at approximately 4:45 p.m., Police took a male into custody after observing him leave a residence in the 100 Block of Frederick Street on foot. A short time later, a female left the residence and drove away in a vehicle. Officers stopped the vehicle and the female was taken into custody. A Search Warrant was then executed on the residence, which recovered an SKS Rifle, three airsoft pellet handguns, approximately 28 grams of cocaine and $1000 cash. The 48-year-old man is bound by a Recognizance with conditions to not have any contact with the female, to not possess Firearms and to reside at an address in Lenore Manitoba. The man was arrested for Possession of a Firearm contrary to a Prohibition Order, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Unsafe Storage of a Firearm, Unsafe Storage of Ammunition, Breach of Recognizance, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine and Possession of Proceeds of Crime. The 31-year-old female was arrested for the same firearm and drug offences but was also found to be in possession of a small amount of Methamphetamine. Both suspects are residents of the home and both were held in custody, scheduled to appear in Court on Wednesday.
