On July 31, 2023 at approximately 2:30 am, police responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident at 13th street and Richmond Ave.  The driver of one of the vehicles was exhibiting signs of impairment and arrested.  The 23-year-old female provided samples of her breath more than three times the legal limit.  She was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will be released once sober to appear in court on August 8, 2023 on charges of Driving While Ability Impaired and Driving with More than 80 mgs of Alcohol in Blood.

Brandon package thief caught red-handed, police say

On July 29, 2023 a 37 year old Brandon man was arrested after he stole a package from the front deck of a residence in the 500 blk of 16th Street. The man was located a short distance away and was found still in possession of the stolen package. The man was arrested without incident and charged with Theft Under $ 5000.00. The man was subsequently released on an Appearance Notice.

The Brandon Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance in locating this person who is: “WANTED BY POLICE”: Jordan Danielle BLACKSMITH FOR Assault by Choking. On April 28, 2022, BLACKSMITH punched a male several times in the head and then proceeded to choke him with a section of tow rope until he was unconscious. BLACKSMITH was arrested, charged and released, however; has failed to attend court. On June 9, 2023, an unknown male walked up to another male at the Brandon Regional Health Centre and shoved him and stated he was going to kill him numerous times. Delivery Package Thief ID’d by Security Footage

On July 27, 2023, police received a report that a delivery package was stolen from a doorstep of a residence in the 500 block of Percy Street shortly after 7:00 am.  Security footage of the theft assisted police in identifying the 36-year-old male suspect.  He was located and arrested later that day.  He was also wanted on charges of Fail to Comply with Probation.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today.

Male suspect ignites propane tank at former residence

On July 25, 2023 at approximately 11:00 am, police and members of BFES responded to a report of a house and fence burning in the 200 block of Princess Ave.  Once the fire was extinguished, investigation revealed that a 38-year-old male, a former tenant of the residence, had intentionally ignited a propane tank, which caused an explosion and fire.  No one was injured because of the incident. The male had fled the scene prior to the arrival of emergency crews, but he was located and arrested on July 26, 2023 shortly after 6:00 am.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on charges of Arson with Disregard for Human Life and Fail to comply with Undertaking.
