Police arrest male suspect in connection to stabbing incident in Brandon

Unlawfully in a Dwelling

On the evening of 2023-11-08, police attended to a residence in the 200 block of Victoria Avenue E after receiving a report of an unwanted male.  Police determined that the accused had knowledge of the keypad code to enter the apartment and had let himself in without the tennants permission.  A 25-year-old male has been released from police custody with conditions to appear in court 2024-01-18, for the charge of Unlawfully in a Dwelling.

Arrest made in serious assault on 10th Street

On November 6, 2023, at approximately 2:30 pm, police responded to a report of a serious assault which occurred in an apartment in the 000 block of 10th street. The 39-year-old male victim sustained serious injuries and was transported to hospital via ambulance. The 39-year-old male suspect was arrested near the scene. He was also wanted on outstanding charges of Fail to Comply with Release Order, Fail to Attend Court and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime. He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today with an additional charge of Aggravated Assault and Fail to Comply with Release Order X2.

Male arrested for murder after woman found dead in Brandon apartment

At approx. 10:48 AM Friday, police were called to conduct a wellbeing check at an apartment in the 200 block of McDiarmid Drive.  Upon entry to the suite officers discovered a deceased 71 year old female.  The death appears to be as a result of trauma caused by an edged weapon.  During further inspection of the suite officers located a 44 year old male, who was detained for investigative means. Members of the Major Crime Section and Forensic Identification Unit were called to the scene to further the investigation.   The male has now been officially arrested for murder, and will appear for a bail hearing later today.  The victim and the accused are related to each other.

Male suspect causes disturbance, smashes monitors at Brandon business

On the evening of 2023-11-02, police were called to a business in the 1100 block of 18th Street as staff reported that a male was causing a disturbance and smashing computer monitors.  A 22-year-old male was determined to be the problem and upon arrest, a search of his person resulted in locating two steak knives.  In addition, a check of police records revealed an outstanding warrant.  The accused has been released from police custody with conditions to appear in court 2023-11-28 for the charges of Mischief to Property Under $5000, Possession of a Weapon, and Cause Disturbance.

Victoria Ave. The suspects were captured on surveillance that is attached to this release.
