The Victoria Inn played host to a sports card and collectibles show today with 12-15 vendors from Manitoba and Saskatchewan taking part. BDNMB.CA was onhand to capture the following images.

Westman Volleyball Club holding a 50/50 to raise funds

The Westman Volleyball Club is holding a 50/50 to raise funds towards travel costs to Calgary.  The 16u Wave team coached by Dean Oakden and Allison Jones will be attending The Best of West 16th Annual tournament during spring break.  The Westman Wave 17u team will also be traveling coached by Jeff Werbowski and Jason Claeys.  The event will feature the top teams from  Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and BC. https://www.fundingchange.ca/westman/Y9bdnX5Atyuo3t1b?ref=YhphVwksTkgaDwtU  

The Open Returns

After a 13 year hiatus the Western Open returns to Brandon in July. Now known as the Wendy's Western Open this tournament will be operated by Jordan Trotter and Ryan Adams. Trotter told BDNMB.CA "we want to make this more fun with music on the course and a 2 man scramble format".  Also Trotter said the tee times would be in the afternoon with a shotgun start. "Golf has seen some huge changes over the past few years and we want to make this an annual fun event that the local golfers look forward to." Popular sports card and memorabilia show returns to Brandon

Looking to buy-trade-sell some sports cards or memorabilia? CK Sports Cards will be holding a 1-day show at the Victoria Inn Hotel & Convention Centre (3550 Victoria Avenue) on Saturday March 11, 2023 from 10am-4pm. This will be their 3rd show in Brandon. Come check out vendors that will be showcasing cards and memorabilia from all you favorite sports.  Raw grading submissions will also be available. Their first two shows in Brandon had 12-15 vendors at each event including a couple from Saskatchewan and Ontario. Admission tickets are available at the door for $2 or online on their website for $1. Vendors interested in setting up a table can contact the host.

Brandon’s Community Sportsplex Ice Arena Is Temporarily Closed

Management and staff at Brandon’s Community Sportsplex wish to inform the public that the facility’s ice arena is temporarily closed due to deficiencies within the ice plant that pose a safety risk to the public and facility staff. Once issues with the ice plant are resolved, a re-opening date will be communicated with the public. Hours of operation for the facility’s pool, racquetball courts and outdoor track will not be impacted by the ice arena’s closure.
