Spectators, fans, and athletes packed the Wheat City golf course/curling club for day 1 of an exciting 2-day amateur boxing card on Saturday evening. Provincial Senior Hockey Championship game coming to Westoba Place

The Provincial Senior Championship will once again be crowned in 2022.  The format this year will have 2 rounds.  ROUND 1 is the semi-finals.  These series will be two-game total goals match-ups.  The winners of the semi-finals will move on to ROUND 2, which will be a 1-game Championship to be played at a neutral site. Location: TBA  Below, you will find the schedule and results from the Manitoba Cup Championships. Thursday, April 7th @ WCG Place (7:15) Boissevain will face Miniota-Elkhorn in game 2 of their series. Boissevain features a number of former WHL players including Devon LeBlanc, Rylee Zimmer, Tyler Dittmer, & Tyler Lewis. Jason Bowles, Taylor Sanheim, Derek Leblanc, Bradley Bowles and Shawn Bowles are players of note on Miniota-Elkhorn. Three Brandon girls selected to participate in prestigious Nashville hockey tournament

Three talented female hockey players from Brandon are about to embark on a hockey trip of a lifetime to Nashville to participate in the Cowgirl Shootout, a prestigious invite only tournament featuring the top 2007 born female players in North America. Haley Blaine, Madison Blaine, and Sydney Sass (2008) will compete as members of Team Manitoba All-Stars, a team coached by Olympic Silver Medalist Bailey Bram and her father Bill Bram. Nine teams in total will complete in the 2007 age group including teams from Alberta, Ontario, Michigan, Boston, and more. The majority of the games will be played at two of the Predators facilities (Ford Ice Antioch and Ford Ice Bellevue), with the tournament taking place April 21-24, 2022. Westman Wildcats are the 2021-22 Manitoba Female Hockey League – U18 AAA Champions

The Westman Wildcats swept the best of 5 series against the Winnipeg Ice to claim the U18 Provincial AAA Female Hockey League for the 2021-22 season. In Friday's series clinching 5-2 win, Makenna Beard & Paige Kozak each scored twice. Madison Weber chipped in with one as well while Grace Glover made 26 saves to pick up the win. Glover was also named playoff MVP. The team now prepares for a matchup (best of three series) against the Saskatchewan U18 AAA Female Hockey League winner to see who advances to the 2022 Esso Cup in Alberta. Huge 2-day amateur boxing event coming to Brandon

A large two-day boxing event is scheduled to take place inside the Wheat City golf course/curling club (3500 McDonald Ave) on April 9th & 10th. Dubbed the Wheat City Throwdown, the event will feature up to 30 fights with participants from Manitoba, Alberta,  Saskatchewan, BC, and more.
