Healthy Brandon hosting FREE Men’s Health Focused Event
Mental Illness Awareness Week (MIAW) (Oct. 1 – 7) is an annual national public education campaign designed to raise awareness to the reality of mental illness. World Mental Health Day is October 10 which is designated as a day to raise awareness on mental health issues.
Approximately 7 million Canadians – 20 percent of us – live with mental health problems, mental illness or addiction. Too often it’s kept hidden because of the associated stigma and discrimination. Self care and open communication are important factors for improving personal resilience. We want YOU to take time for YOU!
In line with the above two initiatives, please join Healthy Brandon and community partners Prairie Mountain Health and City of Brandon, in an effort to raise awareness and end the stigma associated with mental illness at their FREE Men’s Health Focused Event – Men’s “Check” In, Thursday, Oct. 4, 6 – 9 pm in the MNP Hall, Keystone Centre.
