Intoxicated Man Detained After Refusing to Leave Business, Police Assist in Removing Unwanted Guest

Intoxicated Persons Detention Act (IPDA) / Disorderly Conduct

On February 17^th at approximately 11:53PM police were called to a business in the zero hundred block of 10^th Street where a male was highly intoxicated and refusing to leave. Police attended and arrested a 40-year-old male. He was held in detention cells until sober. Also issued fine for Disorderly Conduct under the Liquor, Gaming, Cannabis Control Act.

Arrest Warrant

On February 18^th police were called to a residence in the 600 block of McDiarmid Drive. The homeowner had allowed a 43-year-old woman to stay for three weeks however the woman was behaving in a manner the owner disliked and would not leave, and police assistance was requested. Upon police arrival it was found that the female had an Outstanding Warrant of Arrest (Theft Under $5000). She was arrested and held at Brandon Police Service to be released in the morning. A court date is set for March 18^th, 2025.
