Intoxicated Man Detained After Refusing to Leave Business, Police Assist in Removing Unwanted Guest

Intoxicated Persons Detention Act (IPDA) / Disorderly Conduct

On February 17th at approximately 11:53PM police were called to a business in the zero hundred block of 10th Street where a male was highly intoxicated and refusing to leave. Police attended and arrested a 40-year-old male. He was held in detention cells until sober. Also issued fine for Disorderly Conduct under the Liquor, Gaming, Cannabis Control Act.

 

Arrest Warrant

On February 18th police were called to a residence in the 600 block of McDiarmid Drive. The homeowner had allowed a 43-year-old woman to stay for three weeks however the woman was behaving in a manner the owner disliked and would not leave, and police assistance was requested. Upon police arrival it was found that the female had an Outstanding Warrant of Arrest (Theft Under $5000). She was arrested and held at Brandon Police Service to be released in the morning. A court date is set for March 18th, 2025.
