Landmarks Around the Province to Be Illuminated in Red on June 16th
This Thursday, June 16th, landmarks across the province are turning red in honour of 100 years of Easter Seals in Canada!
Manitoba Possible, the provincial affiliate of Easter Seals Canada, is partnering with some of the provinces most recognized and beloved landmarks to celebrate the valuable contributions and leadership of Canadians with disabilities, and to highlight the work of individuals, organizations and communities who are removing barriers.
Landmarks lighting up in red on June 16th:
- Brandon:
o Brandon City Hall – City of Brandon
o Brandon University will be hosting a flag raising on June 16th at 9:00AM and a red- themed floral garden has been planted on the university grounds in honour of the centennial.
- Dauphin: Watson Art Centre
- Morden: Bruce the Mosasaur at the Morden Welcome Sign – City of Morden
- Selkirk: Selkirk Water Tower – City of Selkirk
- Steinbach: Big Red Car – Steinbach Auto Dealers
- Winnipeg:
o Manitoba Legislative Building (tower) – Province of Manitoba
o WINNIPEG sign at The Forks – City of Winnipeg
o Alloway Hall – Manitoba Museum
This celebration is a call to action to accelerate the progress towards an inclusive and accessible society for all.

Manitoba Possible invites Manitobans to check out one or more of the eight Manitoba landmarks lit up in red after dark, and to reflect on our ongoing efforts to become a better, more accessible, more disability inclusive Canada. Members of the public can view the light displays from dusk on June 16 till dawn on June 17, 2022.
