Jack Lyburn and his team from the Brandon Curling Club became champions of the U15 Canad Inns Youth Winter Bonspiel during the Christmas break, held at The Fort Garry Curling Club in Winnipeg.
This is the teams third Bonspiel in Winnipeg this season. The first in October saw them reach the semi final and then in November they took the number one championship spot from 16 teams, in the Pembina Cash Spiel.
This is the first year the team have curled together under the skip Jack Lyburn age 14, with the third Leyton Gouldie age 13, second Jaden Colbourne age 14 and lead Brogan Schneider age 13.
The boys will be trying out at the U18 Regionals this year in Melita for a chance at provincials, no expectations but all good experience! This is just the beginning.
