Local music group reunites after 14 years – to the day!
A Brandon rock group is set to reunite after a fourteen year hiatus, according to members.
GREYSKULL was a staple of the Manitoba punk music scene in the early 2000s, formed from ex-members of Brandon’s early punk music pioneers such as Swiller, Spitting Image, A Few Pennies Short and Somebody Else. The band played its final show at Brandon’s North Hill Inn on December 23, 2003.
“It was weeks after we all committed and booked the reunion show that we realized it would happen exactly 14 years to the day from our last show. Almost to the hour — and on the same stage.” says Greyskull drummer and local music promoter Ken Jaworski.
The reunion coincides with 2 other milestones in Brandon and Manitoba music history – the 25th anniversary of Jaworski’s FLAT BROKE PRODUCTIONS, a promotion and booking collective which was founded in 1992, and the Premiere release of the documentary WHEAT CITY HARDCORE, a new film which documents the Brandon punk music scene in the 1990s.
The Brandon Punk Rock Reunion takes place on December 23, 2017 at the North Hill Inn, Brandon. Tickets are available at Warlock Tattoo and Faders Music.
