New local furniture company, building your dream table from repurposed hockey sticks
22-year old Brandon University student Justin Holder, a former goalie for both the Virden Oil Caps and Waywayseecappo Wolverines in the MJHL, has come up with an unique business. The business is called Prairie Twigs where he takes old broken hockey sticks and makes incredible furniture for the hockey fan in all of us.
“When I worked at Source for Sports I saw all these broken hockey sticks coming in so I came up with the idea of making a functional table.” said Holder.
Upon request, Prairie Twigs can also make customized furniture or else build your dream table using your re-purposed hockey sticks.
The long term plan for Prairie Twigs is to partner with the Manitoba Junior Hockey League. “I hope to be able to work with all the MJHL teams soon make to make products with their broken sticks”.
Two sizes of tables are currently available:
End Table – $149.00
Coffee Table ( 24 x 36 x 18 ) – $199.00
By the end of February tables will be available to view or purchase at Brandon Source for Sports.
