Police charge three impaired driving suspects

At 9:54 p.m. Saturday, a vehicle stop was conducted in the 600 block of 18th Street after a vehicle query showed that the vehicle was unregistered. The officer formed grounds to believe the vehicle operator was impaired and the driver was arrested. A 32-year-old male from Rivers provided samples of breath, which showed that he was operating a vehicle while exceeding the legal limit of alcohol. The suspect was released from custody and will appear in court in Brandon next week, and faces a charge of driving while impaired, driving over 80 mg%, and public mischief for initially providing a false name to police.
At 12:57 a.m. today, police initiated a vehicle stop in the area of Patricia Avenue and Magnolia Crescent. The driver was arrested for impaired driving as he was under the influence of alcohol. The 22 year old male from Carberry was released after providing samples of breath in excess of the legal limit, and will appear in court next week, charged with impaired driving and driving over 80 mg%.
At 1:25 a.m. today, police stopped a vehicle in the area of Rosser Avenue and Canada Crescent when it was observed travelling in excess of the posted speed limit, and was being operated in an erratic manner. A 31-year-old male from Brandon was found to be operating the vehicle while intoxicated. After providing breath samples, the male was detained in cells to be released later in the day once he was sober. The accused will appear in court in January, charged with impaired driving and driving over 80 mg%.
