Police investigate assault of two dogs

On April 21, 2021, police responded to a report of an assault with bear mace at a residence in the 600 block of Van Horne at approximately 12:38 pm.  Two male suspects sprayed inside of the residence with the mace and assaulted the homeowner’s two dogs by cutting them.

The homeowner went to a neighbor for assistance when the two suspects fled.

Animal control transported both dogs to a vet for non-life-threatening injuries.  The homeowner declined any medical attention.

Police continue to investigate this assault.
