On August 2, 2022, shortly after 10:00 pm, police observed the front door of a residence in the 400 block of 8th street to be open, and smoke coming from within. BFES was notified to attend. Initial investigation has revealed that the fire appears to have been set intentionally. The homeowner was notified, as they were out of the province at the time, and there were no other individuals inside, therefore, nobody was injured.
