Police Seeking Public’s Assistance in Serious Assault

On Sunday January 16, 2022 at 12:24 am, police responded to a report of a serious assault, which occurred in the 1000 block of Rosser Ave.

Investigation revealed that a 26-year-old male was confronted by several individuals and assaulted.  During the assault, he was struck with an unknown long red object.  The suspects fled, and the weapon was never recovered.

The victim was transported to the hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries, where he remains in recovery.

On January 16, shortly after the initial call, police located and arrested one suspect nearby.  The 41-year-old male was held in custody at Brandon Police Service while the investigation continued.  He was later released and will appear in court on March 28, 2022 on charges of Aggravated Assault, Assault with a Weapon, and Possess Weapon Dangerous.

Police continue to investigate and are seeking the public’s assistance regarding this assault.
