On Saturday afternoon, Brandon Fire and Emergency Services as well as members from the RCMP responded to a crash south of Brandon on Highway 10. An RCMP cruiser and a semi truck hauling a Maple Leaf feed trailer collided, which caused both passenger doors of the RCMP cruiser to be completely ripped off. The doors were spread across the road and the ditch.

A wheel, spring, and other parts of the RCMP cruiser could be seen laying in the ditch, meters away from the cruiser itself. The RCMP cruiser was in the west ditch, while the jackknifed semi was caught in deep snow in the east ditch.

The crash happened between the turnoff to Lake Clementi and the crest of the Brandon Hills escarpment (between PR 349 and Road 48N). No word on if any injuries occurred or if anyone was transported to hospital. Highway 10 was completely closed while police waited for tow trucks. Traffic was being rerouted onto adjacent service roads to bypass the crash site.
