It was a weekend of horsepower and heart-stopping thrills in and around Brandon as two major events drew crowds and community spirit: the annual Waywayseecappo Gas Bar Rodeo and Customer Appreciation Days, and the high-octane RAM Monsters & Mayhem Tour at the Keystone Centre.
Just a short drive north of the city, the Waywayseecappo Rodeo ran from Friday through Sunday, blending traditional rodeo action with family-friendly festivities. As a CCA–MRCA-sanctioned event, the rodeo attracted competitors from across Manitoba and Saskatchewan, competing in events like bull riding, bronc riding, barrel racing, and team roping.
Beyond the arena, visitors were treated to a free community barbecue, a car show, kids’ bouncy castles, prize draws, and nightly live music. Concertgoers enjoyed performances from Saskatchewan country singer JJ Voss and Las Vegas-based headliners Downtown Avenue.

Back in Brandon, the roar of monster trucks echoed from the Keystone Centre’s outdoor show ring as the RAM Monsters & Mayhem tour delivered three explosive shows from Friday to Sunday. Fans were thrilled by freestyle motocross stunts, massive modified monster trucks, and even supercharged mini-monster vehicles.
Each performance also featured a pre-show “Pit Party,” where attendees could get up close with the trucks, meet the drivers, and even catch a ride in a real monster truck. The adrenaline-fueled event brought in families and motorheads alike, offering something for all ages.
Together, the two events showcased the diversity of entertainment in the Westman region—where small-town rodeo spirit meets big-engine spectacle.
