On October 11, 2022, police learned of the passing of the 80-year-old pedestrian due to injuries sustained during the motor vehicle collision on October 4, 2022.

On October 12, 2022, police arrested the 67-year-old male who was driving the vehicle that struck the victim.  He was released and will appear in court on December 12, 2022 on a charge of Fail to Remain at Accident Scene Causing Death.

Original release from October 5, 2022:

On October 4th, at 10:00am, a report was received of a single motor vehicle vs pedestrian collision at the crosswalk in the 1900’ block of Richmond Ave.  A Ford F150 pickup was travelling westbound when it struck an 80 year old man who was crossing the street.  The driver of the truck failed to remain at the scene of the collision.  The victim was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.  At 4:15pm, police located the driver of the truck and placed him under arrest.  The 67 year old man was held in custody as the investigation continues.
