Woman arrested for theft and concealed weapons after string of robberies

On Saturday, September 14th an employee from the 1500 block of 18^th Street reported a female who came into their store, took an “armful” of various items and left in a taxi.

On Sunday, September 15^th the suspect was located by police walking out of a building in the 100 block of 10^th Street. A search upon arrest resulted in finding a knife and an imitation Glock handgun from the suspect’s purse.

The surveillance obtained and items recovered revealed thefts from four Brandon stores with quantities of $1600 from store 1 and $1000 from store 2 which were recovered. The suspect was also identified as responsible for $1000 of items stolen from store 3 and approximately $800 stolen from store 4 – of which these items were not recovered.

The 34-year-old female was arrested then later released on an Undertaking with a court date of November 6^th, 2024.
