Attempted murder charge laid in Brandon shooting

On Monday evening at approximately 7:50pm, a 911 call was received of male with an arm injury and the male may have been stabbed. Police attended with BFES to a residence in the 1200 block of 10th Street and located the male, who had a gunshot wound to his right arm. The male indicated he was walking southbound on 10th Street, when a male known to him was driving northbound stopped got out the vehicle and shot him.

Police attended to the accused’s residence and observed the suspect vehicle parked in front. The accused was stopped by police, when leaving the residence Tuesday morning at approximately 01:00am. Police arrested a 31yr old Brandon man for Attempted Murder, Possession of a Weapon Dangerous x2, Pointing a Firearm, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Possess Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized, Unauthorized Possess of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle, Possession of a Firearm contrary to a Prohibited Order, Discharge Firearm with the Intent to Wound/Maim/Disfigure and Discharge Firearm with the Intent to Endanger Life. The male was lodged at BCC to appear in Court on February 05th.

The victim was taken to the hospital to attend to his injury a shattered humerous bone.
