Brandon Riverbank and East End Community Centre to receive project funding
A total of $1.7 million in grants (Building Sustainable Communities Program) was announced Tuesday to support 24 different initiatives in the province. The Manitoba government will provide funding for two community projects in Brandon. The East End Community Centre will receive $75,000 for outdoor rink upgrades and the Brandon Riverbank will receive $75,000 to add solar LED off-grid pathway lighting.
From today’s release. “The province is committed to supporting projects that will meet the needs of communities while reducing red tape, simplifying access and reducing program administration,” said Wharton. “Our goal is to transform and modernize grant funding in order to increase community capacity and promote sustainability in non-profit organizations as well as increase positive outcomes.”
