Florida Georgia Line confirmed for Dauphin’s Countryfest 2018

Dauphin Countryfest Media Release July 2, 2017 (Dauphin MB) -- As the Club Regent Casino & Event Centre Main Stage geared up for Saturday night’s headlining concert, Countryfest organizers took the opportunity to make a special announcement to the sold-out amphitheatre. Florida Georgia Line will play Dauphin’s Countryfest in 2018, with their innovative fusion of country, rock, hip-hop and pop. Since breaking out in 2012 with mega smash Cruise, Hubbard and Kelley have solidified their place as one of country music’s elite acts, earning honors from every major awards body – including three consecutive Vocal Duo of the Year titles from both the Academy of Country Music and the Country Music Association. They’ve sold almost 26 million tracks and over 3.5 million albums worldwide, and over 1.5 million concert tickets in 2015 alone. They can add a few more concert tickets to their tally next year, when they return to Dauphin in 2018. “Florida Georgia Line is one of the hottest country bands today. They’ve had 11 singles reach #1 on the country music charts in recent years, and have become a real force in the country music scene,” says Eric Irwin, president of Dauphin’s Countryfest. “We couldn’t be happier to have them coming back to Dauphin next year.” Florida Georgia Line last played Countryfest in 2013.

Keith Urban Brings Down The House

Dauphin Countryfest Media Release Country superstar Keith Urban definitely delivered to the jam-packed amphitheatre on Friday night. He played hit after hit, seamlessly transitioning from banjo, to electric guitar, to acoustic. Part way through his 90-minute set, he journeyed up to a platform stationed right in the middle of the crowd, where he performed the song Shirt, and shook hands with adorning fans who were absolutely floored to have the chance to see him up close and personal. “Dauphin Manitoba is delivering tonight!” Urban told the audience. “I knew I could count on you guys!” He then pulled one young woman up on the platform to join him, and handed off his guitar to her before disappearing back into the crowd and returning to the stage. Before Urban’s set, fans got to take in performances by Tim Hicks, one of Canada’s most dynamic country artists on the scene today, and Meghan Patrick, whose switch to a solo career earned her a deal with Warner Music.
