The 42 annual PrairieCon is taking place this weekend in the Lower Curling Club Lounge, the Upper Curling Club Lounge, and the Curling Club Ice Surface inside the Keystone Centre. PrairieCon is a weekend-long gaming convention held in Brandon, MB featuring games, tournaments, workshops, vendors, contests, and prizes. Facebook link. PrairieCon dates: Friday, May 26 – Sunday, May 28 Event hours: Friday doors open 12 noon, gaming starts 1pm, facility closes midnight. Saturday doors open 8am, gaming starts 9am, facility closes midnight. Sunday doors open 8am, gaming starts 9am, facility closes at 6pm.

Touch-A-Truck Brandon 2023 is fast approaching

Touch-A-Truck Brandon returns to the grounds at the Keystone Centre on June 3, 2023. Touch-A-Truck Brandon is a unique fundraiser that is an interactive, outdoor, family friendly experience, allowing kids to “touch”, climb, explore and discover all kinds of vehicles in a safe environment. A large variety of trucks are on-hand every year including construction, farm, heavy-duty, and emergency vehicles. Once again there will be a QUIET HOUR from 9am-10am, free of sirens, music and honking for those who need it. There will also be demonstrations from local companies at 10:30am and 12:30pm as well. The cost is only $5 per person and payable in cash at the gate. Date/time: Saturday, June 3, 2023 at 9 AM – 4 PM.

New Summer Music Festival coming to Brandon

A new Summer Music Festival will be taking place in Brandon this July. Dubbed the " Salamander Summer Music Festival", the event will take place at Rideau Park (305 Park Street) on July 21 – 23, 2023 and features DJs, local bands, university artists, performance troupes and more! Among the artists announced as appearing to date include: House of Hex, DJ Dirt, DJ Red, Julianna Moore, Full Flannel Jacket, Vertigo/Matt Cory Band, Mitchell Makoons, Jan Ek, Attica Riots and more. In addition to the live musical performances, a number of activities and attractions will be onsite including a kids area, workshops, art installations, food trucks, beer gardens, and a vendor village.
