Vincent Massey High School to present “Disney’s Descendants: The Musical”

Vincent Massey High School is proud to announce their upcoming production of the beloved next generation Disney channel original “Disney’s Descendants” the musical on November 10, 11, and 12, 2022 at the Western Manitoba Centennial Auditorium. Changes are afoot in the kingdom of Auradon! Here, all of Disney’s favorite heroes and heroines are living in peace, happily ever after. Meanwhile, the evil villains and troubled sidekicks have been banished to the Isle of the Lost, where they are stripped of their magic and powers. Ben, the beloved son of King Beast and Belle, is about to be crowned as King of Auradon and he has a radical idea. He decides to invite four trouble-making offspring of the most wicked villains to take their places as students at Auradon Prep. Mal, Evie, Jay, and Carlos--the children of Maleficent, Grimhilde, Jafar, and Cruella De Vil--come to Auradon with an evil plan of their own. They have been tasked with stealing the Fairy Godmother’s magic wand and restoring their parents to power. However, will they go through with the plan? Or do they have the potential to learn to be good? “Disney’s Descendants: The Musical” is based on the Disney Channel Original Movies and features the hit songs from the films. This is a family friendly show that is suitable for children of all ages. It features Vincent Massey students Danika Robb, Kaley Koroluk, Aaron Pasaporte, Jaden Colbourne, Ryan Degroot, Madi Bootsman, Roxy lurshynets, Manu Tarubal, Lucy MacPherson Blair, Gabby Milla, Luke MacPherson Blair, and 28 more VM students. Working with acclaimed soprano Naomi Forman as our vocal director, Mindy Halliday as our choral director, and the owner/ instructor of Dance Images Linda Kearns as our choreographer, students are thrilled to bring the modern classic to life on the Western Manitoba Centennial Auditorium stage. Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for students and seniors, and $12 for children under 12. Smoked & Sauced Mobile BBQ was voted "Fan Favorite" at bdnmb.ca's 5th annual Food Truck Warz. This is the 2nd time they have took home the honors, having also won in 2018. In 2022, we will be bringing the best street food vendors to Brandon for four days of amazing food.  From poutine to pizza and from BBQ to BeaverTails, Food Truck Warz will showcase diverse and delicious menus from across the province. Sawyer Brown and Lonestar concert announced for Brandon

Earlier this morning on their Facebook page, Dauphin's Countryfest announced they would be bringing Sawyer Brown and Lonestar to Brandon for a concert at the Keystone Centre. The concert is scheduled to take place on November 22nd inside Westoba Place. George Canyon and Doc Walker will also be be taking part in the show.
