Kinsmen Pool, spray parks to close for the season

With summer drawing to a close, the Brandon Kinsmen Pool, spray parks and paddle pools officially close for the season at the end of day today. Brandon's five spray parks & Kinsmen pool typically open the first week of June each year. Posted yesterday:

Jess Moskaluke coming to Brandon’s WMCA

Canadian country singer and song writer Jess Moskaluke is scheduled to perform a concert at Brandon’s WMCA on Wednesday, November 16 at 7:30pm. Moskaluke's 2022 Mapdot Tour kicks off on October 29 in Montreal and will make 20 stops across Canadian cities along the way.  She is a multiple (2015 & 2018) JUNO Award nominee and crowned the 2017 JUNO Award winner for Country Album of the Year. Notable singles include Cheap Wine and Cigarettes, Take Me Home, Catch Me If You Can, Drive Me Away, and more. With special guest and opener Tyler Joe Miller. Tickets go on-sale September 1 @ 10am. Brandon Rib Fest is back for 2022, announces dates

One week following the 5th annual Food Truck Warz, Brandon's popular RibFest event will be held September 23-25th on the grounds at the Keystone Centre. Enjoy award winning BBQ from famous BBQ experts including ribs, brisket, pulled pork and more. Hours are from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm Friday and Saturday, and 11:00 am to 6:00 pm on the Sunday. 2 talented country singers to share Lady of the Lake stage

Two Manitoba singer/song writers will be taking to the stage at the Lady of the Lake on Friday, September 2. The show gets underway at 9pm and admission is only $10.00 Consistently recognized as Manitoba’s most promising country stars, Emma Peterson is known not only for her captivating performances, but for a powerful voice and all too relatable lyricism. Growing her following in social media, Emma has been able to engage with fans across the country and find a larger audience. In 2016, Emma’s debut took home top spot in CMT’s Chevy Tailgate Contest, resulting in one of her original songs being featured on the Chevy Top 20, while she made a name for herself as one of the Top 4 finalists in the country. In 2020, she headed to the Manitoba Country Music Awards in Winnipeg with a slew of nominations including Fans’ Choice, Female Artist and Music Video of the Year, ultimately taking home a win in the Emerging Artist category. Desiree Dorion grew up a mile and a half from the grounds of Dauphin Country Fest, one of the biggest outdoor music festivals in Canada. As a little girl she would ride her bike there when the festival wasn’t on, climb up on the stage, and pretend to play to the thousands of fans that come to watch big country music acts. In 2014 her dream of playing the main stage came true when she shared the stage with The Band Perry. The JUNO Nominee is one of the most celebrated female artists in country music in Manitoba. She has had five songs chart in the top 100 on the Canadian country music charts (TRAX), along with several reach the top spot on the Indigenous Music Countdown. Her songwriting partner on her most recent album, Break the Chain is producer/songwriter Chris Burke-Gaffney. They enjoyed a successful collaboration previously with the hit “Whiskey Knows” In 2017, Desiree took home the award for Songwriter of the Year at the Manitoba Country Music Awards for co-writing "Whiskey Knows" with Chris Burke-Gaffney. "Whiskey Knows" was also a semi-finalist in the International Songwriting Competition.
