Food Truck Warz returns to the Keystone Centre this September

Brandon's fastest growing and most talked about event, Food Truck Warz returns to the Keystone Centre for 4 days this September. Organizers (BDNMB.CA) will be bringing the best street food vendors (26) from across the province including several new trucks who will be making their first appearance at our event. There will be something for everyone...from BBQ to BeaverTails and from pasta to poutine. Returning favorites include Smoked & Sauced, KYU Grill, Walleye Wagon, and Miss Tiny's Jamaican to name a few. Select Shows will also be on-hand for the entire 4 days with a variety of amusement rides for both young and old. Hours of operation: Sept 15th– 4 pm to 11 pm Sept 16th – 11 am to 11 pm Sept 17th– 11 am to 11 pm Sept 18th- 11 am to 6 pm Food Truck Warz will once again support a number of local non-profit organizations including Westman Dreams for Kids and Pawsitive Communities. WANNABE: A Spice Girls Tribute coming to The 40

The 40 is taking it back to the 90’s with Wannabe – A Spice Girls Tribute Presents: The Reunion Tour. The event takes place on Thursday October 13th, 2022. Tickets go on sale starting Wednesday July 13, 2022 @ 10am at the front desk of the Travelodge Brandon, The 40 bar (cash only), or online through eventbrite.ca. Advance tickets are $20 +GST. The show is an 18+ only show, please have ID’s ready at the door, no refunds for paid tickets.

UJU Videos to hold open casting call in Brandon

UJU Videos (y-OO h-OO, sounds like “you who”) is excited to announce the production of a new series of games and activities in Brandon beginning August, 2022. The search is on for talent in Westman to join in the fun. UJU Videos co-creator Jennalee Burch, a teacher with over 11 years of international experience, will be heading the project in her hometown. “I’m so excited to bring this opportunity home to Brandon. This is the chance for Westman students to be involved in a creative and fun project that will be seen by millions around the globe.” Burch will be creating a new series of movement based ‘Brain Breaks’ for the 2022-2023 school year. Westman students will have the opportunity to be a part of the new ‘UJU Crew’ showcased in the upcoming videos. “We love making these videos, we pride ourselves in making fun resources for any classroom. To see the growth in our channel in such a short time is really rewarding and we know we are just scratching the surface. The need for quick, fun, movement-based energizers is growing and they are needed in all classrooms regardless of what content the teacher is teaching.” Any interested students between the ages of 4 to 18 years old are welcome. Reggae music & arts festival coming to Brandon

The International Reggae Afro Latin Music & Arts Festival (IRAL) will be hosting a 2-day event at the Brandon Riverbank. Taking place July 29 & 30, the event will feature artists from the Afro, Latin and Caribbean musical genres, food, vendors, activities, and more. Canada's King of Reggae Jah Cutta has been announced as one of the performers who will be hitting the Fusion Credit Union Stage. JAYD, Natalya, Chelsea Stewart, JEDIMZ, & DJ 1NDAMIIXC are among the other numerous artists who have already been announced as appearing. Johnny Reid coming to Brandon’s WMCA

Scottish-Canadian country music artist Johnny Reid is scheduled to perform a concert at Brandon’s WMCA on Sunday, September 4 at 7:30pm. The Love Someone: An Intimate Evening with Johnny Reid national tour kicked off on February 10 in London, ON. Overall, more than a 100 shows are planned as part of the tour. Reid has won 26 Canadian Country Music Awards and 6 JUNO Awards. Notable singles include Dance With Me, Brings Me Home, A Woman Like You, Darlin', and Love Sweet Love.
