Fun-Packed Manitoba Summer Fair Kicks Off Today

Enjoy five days of live entertainment, great fair food, & fun midway rides at The Manitoba Summer Fair, starting today at 4:00pm. The fair has been a standout event for Brandon dating all the way back to 1882. The five-day event includes a variety of outdoor and indoor activities for people of all ages including a demo derby, horse show, sideshow entertainment, and a beer garden. Annual Brandon Traveller’s Day Parade this Saturday

The annual Brandon Traveller’s Day Parade starts at at 11 am on Saturday, June the 8th.  The parade begins at the corner 6th Street and Rosser Avenue and makes its way through downtown, ending at the gates of the fair.  Annually, the parade attracts 65 – 75 entries and is free to the public to attend. The Brandon Travellers' Day Parade was established in 1955.

Westman Dreams for Kids Children’s Country Fair wraps up another successful event

The Royal LePage Westman Dreams for Kids Children’s Country Fair was held earlier today at the Riverbank Discovery Centre. Organizers are said to be very pleased with both the change of venues and the turnout. The Children's Country Fair is a free family event taking place annually in Brandon. Select Shows Midway, a welcome addition to Brandon’s Food Truck Warz

Food Truck Warz is pleased to welcome Select Shows to this year's event taking place at the Brandon Riverbank Discovery Centre from September 13-15. Select Shows has grown to become one of central Canada's largest midways. They provide a great selection of rides and carnival games for adults, as well as children, ensuring that the whole family can enjoy their experience. The show has a reputation of operating a clean, well maintained midway. The uniformed staff are fully trained and qualified to assist and serve the public. Signature rides for adults include the "Ring of Fire", a 60 foot tall 360 degree looping roller coaster will make your head spin and the "Giant Wheel Expo" which provides breathtaking 60 feet high views over looking the midway. Dragon Wagon, Merry Go Around & the Toontown Funhouse are among the Family – Kiddi Rides scheduled to appear. A complete list of rides attending, and pricing, will be released closer to the event. ‘Music in the Parks’ kicks off Tuesday

Brandon, MB – The City of Brandon’s Community Services Department is very pleased to announce that its popular Music in the Parks program will bring FREE music programming to three locations across the community this summer, beginning one week from today. This year’s program kicks off Tuesday, June 4th in Princess Park with a performance by the always energetic Crocus Plains School student collective, CP Express, and promises an eclectic mix of performances each week through to the end of August. While the bulk of this year’s performances are being featured in Princess Park in the heart of Brandon’s downtown, three weekly performances will be staged in Rideau Park at the new community pavilion space located at the far north end of the park. Preparations are also underway for two very special Thursday Music in the Parks performances to take place this summer at the newly-opened Festival Park at the Riverbank Discovery Centre – watch for details on those additional performance dates coming soon! A full lineup of this year’s Tuesday Music in the Parks performances and corresponding locations can be found at www.brandon.ca/music. All shows begin at 7 p.m. and the public is encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket for outdoor music-listening comfort.
