Rockin’ The Fields Of Minnedosa returns this weekend with an impressive lineup

The annual Rockin' the Fields of Minnedosa music festival goes this weekend (August 2-4) and organizers have put together an impressive musical lineup to fill your long weekend party appetite. Festival headliners this summer include April Wine, Collective Soul, and Tom Cochrane with Red Rider. Saturday night’s headliner Collective Soul is an American based rock band who rose to international fame in 1993 with their song “Shine.”  Some of their other notable singles include “The World I Know,” “Precious Declaration,” “December,” and “Where the River Flows.” The rest of the festival lineup includes: Platinum Blonde, Sam Roberts Band, Sass Jordan, Lee Aaron, Harlequin, Streetheart, 54-40 and more. In addition to the music the festival provides great on-site vendors, camping opportunities and other activities. RFM is the largest festival of it's kind in Manitoba attracting thousands of fans to the grounds overlooking beautiful Lake Minnedosa.

Ukrainian Independence Day celebration to be held in Brandon

Brandon Manitoba Ukrainian Events will be hosting a Ukraine Independence Day celebration on Saturday, August 24 at the Brandon Riverbank Discovery Centre. Among the planned entertainment is several live stage performances featuring local bands the Sawchuk Sisters and fiddling legend Boris Nowosad and Friends. The entertainment does not stop there. The Bratstva Ukrainian dance group are also scheduled to perform at the event which runs from 4 PM – 8 PM. Food and refreshments will be available. Kids activities such as bouncy castles, face painting, and crafts will be onsite as well. Tickets ($15/adult) are available online at bdnukraineindependenceday.eventbrite.ca. Children 12 and under are free.

The Wiggles brand new Party Time Tour! is coming to Brandon’s WMCA

The Wiggles brand new Party Time Tour! is coming to Brandon's WMCA on Monday, October 21.  The Wiggles are an Australian children's music group formed in Sydney, New South Wales. "The Party Time Tour! will feature Dorothy the Dinosaur, Captain Feathersword, Wags the Dog, Henry the Octopus and a brand-new Wiggly friend, Shirley Shawn the Unicorn! You can sing and dance along to all your favorite classic Wiggles songs as well as plenty of new favorites.  Join Emma as she performs Irish, ballet and other bow-tiful dancing. Listen to Anthony play his guitar, banjo and bagpipes. Do the actions with Simon as he sings "Simon Says", and if Lachy falls asleep, call out "Wake up Lachy!" because we need him for the show!" Canadian Cowboys Association rodeo coming to Brandon this weekend

A rodeo is coming to Brandon this upcoming weekend, July 27 and 28. The Canadian Cowboys Association (CCA) approved rodeo will be held at the rodeo grounds just north of Brandon off Hwy 10. Turn west on Airport road and look for signage. A number of different events have been scheduled including bull riding, bareback, saddle bronc, steer wrestling, ladies barrel racing and more. The complete draw can be found here. Participants from Prince Albert, Moose Jaw, Neepawa, Swift Current, Brandon, Medicine Hat are expected to compete over the weekend. Brandon Folk, Music & Art Festival announces lineup

The Brandon Folk, Music & Art Festival will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at Princess Park. Some of the musical acts listed to be performing include Kate Ferris, The Young Pixels, Caitlin Baker, The Pomelo Band, and Bruce Dunlop. Other listed activities include the popular Canvas Craft and Artist Market, a family area with arts & crafts, and art displays. Their Facebook group page can be found here. The event starts at 11:00am and runs through to dusk.  Admission is free and food vendors will be onsite.
