Dakota Nation Winterfest 2019, a combination of cultural and aboriginal sports

Sioux Valley Dakota Nation will be holding their annual “Dakota Nation Winterfest” for four days inside Westman Communications Group Place starting January 31, 2019. The event is a long standing tradition in Western Manitoba and is a combination of cultural and aboriginal sports. Now in it's 47th year the festival encompasses activities and events for all age groups including a square dance competition, talent show, basketball, volleyball and moccasin games. One of the more popular events each year is the adult and minor hockey tournaments drawing teams from all over Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta. The Sr. Mens hockey tournament is especially popular and brings in players with WHL and Jr. A hockey experience.

Your town has the opportunity to host a concert by country music legend Charlie Major

Dauphin’s Countryfest is giving away a free concert to a non-profit organization to help raise funds for their community. As a way to give back, and to celebrate their 30th birthday, they want YOUR TOWN to host their pre-birthday PARTY! Dauphin’s Countryfest will provide one lucky Manitoba community with an opportunity to host a country music concert, headlined by Canadian country music legend CHARLIE MAJOR, in the spring of 2019. Dauphin’s Countryfest provides the concert, and the lucky community gets to retain all of the proceeds for their organization. “Leaving your 20’s behind is an exciting milestone that deserves to be celebrated. The Board of Directors and the staff have been having so much fun planning all the ways to celebrate 30 years of running Manitoba’s largest country music festival. Disney and Cameron Mackintosh’s MARY POPPINS JR. Playing at WMCA

Brandon, MB – Disney and Cameron Mackintosh’s Mary Poppins JR. is playing at the WMCA fromNov. 15 through Nov. 17th at 7:00 PM Nightly and 2:00 PM Sunday the 18th. The “practically perfect” 70-minute musical, is based on the classic P.L. Travers stories and the Walt Disney film. The cast is made up of over 50 young people from throughout Westman ages range from 5-17 and is led by Director/Choreographer, Linda Kearns, Assistant Director George Buri, Vocal Directors Mindy Halliday and Jadyn Burr.   All of London is shouting from the rooftops about this exciting stage adaptation of the classic tales of Mary Poppins. Join the Banks family as they encounter adventure after fun-filled adventure with their curious new nanny, Mary Poppins. Adapted especially for young performers, this musical includes favorite Sherman brothers songs such as “A Spoonful of Sugar,” “Feed the Birds,” and “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious,” as well as wonderful new songs by George Stiles and Anthony Drewe. Westman’s Got Talent returns for 2 big nights

It's back again! The 2018 edition of Westman's Got Talent is just around the corner! There are 2 shows on November 7 & 8 (November 7 is Under 18, and November 8 is over 18). The Prairie Firehouse will again be the venue, with tickets for just $20! Proceeds from the Under 18 show will go to Kinette scholarships, and proceeds from the 18+ show to be donated to the Brandon Bear Clan. Do you have a talent to share?
