Food Truck Warz, along with our title sponsors Westman Communications Group and Vanguard Credit Union, are pleased to introduce to you one of the new food trucks who will be rolling into Brandon for this years event. Better Than Baba's is a gourmet mobile food truck specializing in authentic handmade perogies and cabbage rolls.  Available toppings can include green onions, bacon, sour cream, caramelized onions and more.  Why not try a combo with cabbage rolls and kielbasa? Chief Andrew Malitsky uses Manitoba grown potatoes, wheat and unbleached flour, Manitoba cheese, and ethically raised meat to ensure only the best ingredients are sourced in their food preparation. Available perogy flavours may include: cheddar cheese & potato, spinach & feta, and cheddar cheese,& potato,with jalapeno & bacon. Also on the menu is a dessert perogy using sour cherries and blueberries. Be prepared to get wild, The 40 with another concert announcement

Fresh off the heels of their Soulfly concert announcement, the 40 is right back at it with yet another concert announcement.  This time they have announced that the Kelowna, BC based rock’n’roll band The Wild! will be coming to Brandon on Saturday, April the 14th.  Joining The Wild! will be The Lazys as the two bands hit the road in support of their Nothin’ But Another Bottle Canadian Tour.  Tickets to the show go on sale Friday February the 15th.  Advance tickets are only $15.00 and can be purchased at www.eventbrite.ca or at the Trails West Motor inn.  Facebook event page.

The 40 makes major concert announcement

The 40 is pleased to welcome to their stage SOULFLY AS NAILBOMB: Performing “Point Blank” by Nailbomb in its entirety.  The Phoenix, Az based American heavy metal band will be hitting Brandon for one show on Thursday, March the 8th. "After revisiting Sepultura’s Roots album in full on tour last year, Max Cavalera will be returning to his musical past once again. This time, however, he will hit the road with Soulfly as the band performs Nailbomb’s Point Blank in its entirety on a North American run.  Support on the tour will come from Today Is The Day , Lody Kong, which features Max’s sons Igor Jr. and Zyon (who is also Soulfly’s drummer), & The Uncured.  Cavalera formed the industrial thrash outfit Nailbomb with Fudge Tunnel’s Alex Newport back in 1993. The group released just one studio album the following year, which has remained an underground favorite, enlisting guests like Max’s brother Iggor and stepson Richie, his then Sepultura bandmate Andreas Kisser as well as Fear Factory’s Dino Cazares." Tickets go on sale today (February 9, 2018) at 10am.  Advance tickets are only $20.   Doors open at 6:00 pm with the show getting underway at 6:30 pm.

The Provincial Ex announces the entertainment line-up for the 2018 Royal Manitoba Winter Fair

February 2, 2018 – With only a couple months to go until the 2018 Royal Manitoba Winter Fair, organizations are putting the final touches on the entertainment line-up for this year’s fair.   “Finding entertainment that matches our agriculture roots and meets budget constraints is always a challenge. Said Ron Kristjansson, General Manager of the Provincial of Manitoba. “This year we’ve maintained our focus on animal education as well as included entertainment pieces that our younger guest will enjoy; there really is something for everyone.”   The Birds of Prey show from the Canadian Raptor Conservatory will be performing twice daily in the main arena along with the President’s Choice Superdogs presented by Manitoba Hydro. Wednesday, March 28 is Credit union Family Day featuring the Backyardigans gang - Pablo the penguin, Tyrone the moose, Uniqua the purple-spotted creature, Tasha the hippo, and Austin the kangaroo. Thursday’s Kids day will host everyone’s favorite musical performer, Fred Penner.   “Considering the positive impact the Royal Manitoba Winter Fair has within southern Manitoba, it was a simple decision for our group of credit unions to support it again. Amaranth, Beautiful Plains, Compass, Minnedosa, Strathclair, Stride, Sunrise, Vanguard and Westoba Credit Unions often work together on initiatives that span the entire region.” Said Terri Roulette McCartney, Marketing Manager of Sunrise Credit Union. “We’re all looking forward to another great week at the fair!”   Daily horse shows, cattle shows and the wildly popular Royal Farm Yard are a must see for all visitors with new elements being added to all of the areas. Other family acts performing daily are the Canadian acappella group HOJA, Doodles the Clown, Stunt Ventriloquist Tim Holland, Canadian songwriter and humourist, Norman B Foote and Musical Daredevil Comedian, James Johnson. The evening show includes high stakes equestrian show jumping with top caliber riders and horses competing for their share of close to $140,000 in prize money. A crowd favourite, the Heavy Horse Hitch competition will close out the evening show each day.

Fans of Brandon's Food Truck Warz event will be pleased to hear that several new food trucks have agreed to appear at this year's event. Among the new trucks joining this years fleet is the Red Dot Japanese Cuisine Food Truck. This truck, run by a father and daughter duo, specializes in traditional Japanese food. They serve a variety of assorted sushi trays representing a additional classic taste from Japan (Futomaki Rolls) to the modern day (Californian Rolls) to raw fish (Nigiri), They also serve an Udon Noodle Soup and Shrimp Tempura. You don't want to miss out on one of their famous sushi bento boxes or sushi donuts. Operators of the Red Dot Japanese Cuisine Food Truck tell bdnmb.ca that they will have having a new, adjusted menu for this season as well. In 2017 they made they appearances at major events throughout Winnipeg including: Manyfest, Manitoba Night Market & Festival, Sage Creek Canada Day Celebrations and the Flatlander's Beer Festival. The Red Dot Japanese Cuisine Food Truck is just one of may new food trucks scheduled to make their first appearance at Food Truck Warz 2, featuring title sponsors Westman Communications Group and Vanguard Credit Union.
