35th Annual C21 Fun-Raiser featuring golf tournament, bocce tournament & more

The 35th Annual C21 Fun-Raiser will be held on July 26th at the Glen Lea Golf Course. This year they are doing the fun-raiser in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters. In the past they have donated to the Ashley Neufeld Softball Complex, Boyd Stadium, and last year to the Massey Manor. The Fun-Raiser has always been a golf tournament but this year they're adding a new element to the day's festivities, a bocce tournament. Cam Toews tells bdnmb.ca that each year they have a lot of people who will say they'd like to be part of the fundraiser but don't golf or like to golf. Adding the bocce tournament will give these individuals an opportunity to be there supporting the event without having to golf.  It's a very easy game to play. The format is 2 person teams and bracket style tournament with a 3 game minimum. The cost is only $100/team to enter and that includes your meal after. TD Branch to relocate from Rosser Ave to new 18th Street location

From a statement (posted below) released earlier today, the TD Canada Trust Branch located at 903 Rosser Ave will be relocating to a new address at 1108-18 Street. The site in question is currently under construction. The address had previously been a Shell gas station which closed its doors on October 9, 2017. "We continually assess the competitive landscape to ensure we are optimizing our branch network, and as a result, we sometimes make decisions to open or close branches. In this case, I can confirm we are moving our Brandon branch from its current location on Rosser Avenue to 1108 18 Street at Brandon Avenue, which is about three kilometers away from the current branch. "We're pleased to share the new location will have longer hours, including being open on Sundays, additional parking and a range of financial advisors including specialists from TD Wealth, TD Business Banking and TD Agriculture Services. "We are working directly with our employees, and with our customers to ensure we continue to meet all of their banking needs." Geraldine Anderson I Manager, Corporate & Public Affairs

Fired Pizza under new ownership

Fired Pizza (2430 Victoria Ave) is under new ownership as of the first of July. New owner Kyle Koksal, who also owns Shawarma Queen along with his wife, tells bdnmb.ca that he had been toying with the idea of opening a second location in Brandon when the opportunity to purchase Fired Pizza came along. His immediate plans for the location is to pretty much keep the restaurant running as is. A new cook with 23-years in the pizza business has joined Kyle on this project. Future plans may include extending the hours of operation and potentially down the road adding some of the more popular Shawarma Queen menu items to the menu at Fired Pizza.
