Scooter Swiped on Victoria Avenue

Stolen Scooter On November 3, 2025, at approximately 9:45 a.m., police received a report of a stolen Go Trax electric scooter from a business in the 900 block of Victoria Avenue. The scooter had been secured at the bike station, and when the owner returned from shopping, it was gone. This incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information regarding this theft is asked to contact the Brandon Police Service at 204-729-2345 or Crime Stoppers at 204-727-TIPS (8477). Failure to Comply SOIRA On November 3rd at 5:30 p.m. a 45-year-old male attended Brandon Police Service as he believed there was paperwork for him. The male had a summons and a SOIRA Warrant. The male was served, the warrant was executed, and the SOIRA registry was completed. The male was released via Appearance Notice with a court date of December 1st, 2025.    

Canadian Armed Forces Conducting Training Exercises in Brandon This Week

Brandon residents can expect to see increased military activity in and around the city this week, as part of scheduled training operations conducted by the Royal Canadian Air Force and the Canadian Army. A CH-146 Griffon helicopter will be conducting flying operations within city limits throughout the week. The aircraft will operate at altitudes no lower than 500 feet above the highest obstacle on their route. While the helicopters will be configured with weapons, no ammunition will be carried or used. All flight operations are meticulously planned and closely monitored to ensure public safety and are subject to weather and flying conditions. In addition, CFB Shilo will conduct training exercises at various city parks Nov. 6 - 7, 2025. Training is expected to start Thu, Nov. 6 at 8 a.m. and continue until Fri, Nov. 7 at 2 p.m. Locations include: Rideau Park Dinsdale Park Sir Winston Churchill Park Fields outside of Brandon’s Community Sportsplex In addition, an open house event will be held at the Riverbank Discovery Centre on Thu, Nov. 6, from 3:30 – 5 p.m. Residents are invited to meet soldiers, view M777 artillery guns stationed in the field north of the Centre, and learn more about the military units based in the Brandon area and to support the important training efforts of our Canadian Armed Forces. Outside of the open house hours, residents are asked to minimize engagement with military personnel as they practice rapid deployment and re-deployment in an urban environment. Military vehicles and helicopters will be visible as troops move between the Riverbank Discovery Centre and CFB Shilo. No live ammunition will be used during the exercise.

Identity Fraud leads to Charges, Warrants Executed

Identity Fraud leads to Charges In April of this year, Police received a complaint from the victim after he had discovered that his roommate had used his identity to fraudulently obtain a loan in his name. The investigation revealed that the roommate had falsified documents to receive a loan in the amount of $7,000.  The 28-year-old male suspect was charged with Fraud Over $5,000 and Identity Fraud and released on an Undertaking to appear in Court in January. Warrants Executed On Friday morning, October 31st, Police attended to a residence in the 300 block of 2nd St for a 911 call that was disconnected. Upon attending a 43-year-old male was found to have an outstanding Warrant for his arrest for Theft Under $5,000. He was held in the Brandon Police Service (BPS) cells to appear in Court in the morning.  

Spooky Conduct and Frightful Fines

Assault / Assault with a Weapon / Possession of a Weapon A victim from an incident on Tuesday came forward and provided statement substantiating the above charges. A 25-year-old female was arrested and later released via Undertaking with a court date of January 5th, 2026. Arrest Warrants In the past 24 hours four individuals were arrested on the strength of their warrants. One was released on an Undertaking, two were released via Appearance Notices, and one was held for court in the morning. (Two additional Arrest Warrants discussed in depth below with new charges) Breach of the Peace On October 30th at 8:10 p.m. two calls were received of a female causing a disturbance in Westaway Bay. Police attended and a 20-year-old intoxicated female was arrested and brought to BPS detention cells to prevent further issues. She will be released once sober. Assault On October 30th at 9:21 p.m. police were called to a disturbance outside of a business on Willowdale Crescent. A female had reportedly tried to de-escalate a situation between a male and female – however the situation escalated quickly, and she ended up being punched twice in the face by the female, and her boyfriend was hit by the male. The boyfriend did not wish to pursue charges, however the female did. The 37-year-old female suspect who hit her was located by Police walking in the area and was arrested. She was later released on an Undertaking with a court date of January 15th, 2026. BFES attended to address minor injuries. Failure to Comply Undertaking On October 30th, 2025, at approximately 11:39 p.m., police received a panic alarm from a residence in the 400 block of 12th Street. Upon arrival, officers located a highly intoxicated 36-year-old female outside the address. The female was found to be bound by conditions to abstain from consuming alcohol. She was arrested for breaching her release conditions and lodged in the BPS detention unit until sober. Once sober, the female will be released on an Appearance Notice with a court date set for January 12, 2026. Arrest Warrant + New Charge of Public Mischief On October 31st at 1:06 a.m. a traffic stop was conducted in the 000 block of 6th Street. When asked for ID the subject provided a false name. When his real identity was determined, it was found that he had an endorsed Warrant for Arrest. (Theft Under $5000). He was arrested and brought to BPS where he was processed and later released via Appearance Notice with a court date of November 24th, 2025. Arrest Warrant + New Charges On October 31st at approximately 5:21 a.m., police responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence in the 200 block of 2nd Street. It was reported that two men were causing a disturbance upstairs. Upon arrival, officers located a 58-year-old male who was determined to be the cause of the disturbance. The male was found to be breaching multiple court-imposed conditions, including requirements to reside in Winnipeg, observe a 10:00 p.m. curfew, and abstain from alcohol consumption. The male was also found wearing an ankle monitor. Further investigation revealed that the male was wanted on an Arrest Warrant for Failure to Comply with Court Order (SOIRA) ×2. He was additionally charged with Failure to Comply with Release Order ×3 and Disturbing the Peace. The male was arrested and held in custody at BPS for court in the morning.
