Four youth accused of stealing alcohol from beer vendor

On August 6th at 2:39AM alarms of glass break and entrance was received for a business in the 3400 block of Victoria. Members attended and four youth, who attempted to run, were arrested. They had stolen alcohol in their possession. Video footage revealed the stolen items matched what they had in their possession. All four youth were arrested and lodged to prevent further incidents. Three with charges of Break and Enter to Commit Theft as well as Minor Consumption have court on September 24th, 2024.  One youth who has Break & Enter to Commit Theft charge has court on September 26th, 2024.

CDSA search warrant leads to drug bust

Drug Bust On August 5th at 6:45PM as a resut of a CDSA (Controlled Drug and Substance Act) investigation members of the Organized Crime Section, with the assistance of Patrol members, executed a CDSA search warrant at an apartment in the 1200 block of 20th Street. A 24-year-old female was located inside and taken into custody without incident. A search of the residence resulted in police locating 37 grams of Fentanyl (With a street value of approximately $15,000), 5 grams of methamphetamine (with a street value of $300), a cell phone, digital scale, score sheets, numerous types of packaging materials and various weapons. The female was arrested and later released with a court date of October 10th, 2024. The female faces 5 charges in relation to the possession of drugs and weapons.

Highlights for the past 24 hours: Sexual Assault On August 3, a 23 year old female reporting being sexually assault by a 21 year old male, who was known to her. As a result of the investigation, the male was arrested at 2:57 pm on August 5th and was charged with Sexual Assault. He was later released on an undertaking to appear in court at a later date. Assault At 4:17 pm, a female reported being assaulted by her boyfriend while at a residence. The victim did not require medical treatment for her injuries. The 28 year old male suspect was later arrested at a residence on Elderwood Dr and was released on an undertaking to appear in court at a later date. Fail to Comply with Undertaking At 10:31 pm, a call was received from a residence in the 1600 block of Sycamore Dr, reporting a 14 year old female was causing a disturbance at the residence. It was determined the suspect had breached the curfew condition of her undertaking. She was arrested and held for court in the morning. Assault At 04:17 am, a female reported being assaulted by a 20 year old male who was known to her. The male punched the victim in the face . The male was arrested and released on an undertaking to appear in court at a later date.

Female arrested for allegedly stealing $1,000 in merchandise from Superstore

A 32 y/o female was arrested after she allegedly stole $1000.00 worth of merchandise in a shopping basket from Superstore.  Police attended and found the woman in the parking lot with the merchandise, transferring it from the basket to bags.  Once she was arrested, she was found to be the  subject of a warrant for theft and on conditions not to attend Superstore.  The merchandise was returned and she was held for Court on all charges.

Police respond to machete attack at downtown hotel

Assault with a Weapon, Possession of a Weapon and Fail to Comply with a Court Order On Friday afternoon, police responded to a downtown hotel for a male who had been attacked with a machete.  He sustained injuries to his hand a face and was transported by ambulance to the hospital with non-life threating injuries. The investigation discovered the victim had been assaulted at a different location and came to the hotel for help.  A 36 y/o male was located and arrested, he will be held for Court on Saturday.  It is believed that neither party involved knew each other. Aggravated Assault and Possession of a Weapon Friday morning, police responded to a central Brandon residence for a disturbance.  Once at the residence, police discovered a 31y/o had sustained a stab wound to his hand.  A 26 y/o female was arrested and charged.  Both parties were known to each other.  The female was released with a Court date.
