Source: Brandon Police Service Media Release On September 19, 2022, at approximately 5:00 pm, police responded to the area of Sycamore Drive for report of an attempted robbery. A 15-year-old and a 17-year-old male youth approached the victim wearing masks, brandished a knife and asked him for his phone. The victim was able to run to safety. Both suspects were later located. They were arrested and released to appear in court on charges of Attempt Armed Robbery, Possession of a Weapon, Resist Arrest, and Party to the Offence of Robbery.

Male suspect charged following ‘road rage’ incident in Brandon

Source: Brandon Police Service Media Release On September 18, 2022, at approximately 11:33am, police responded to a report of a road rage incident in the 2000 block of 9th Street.  A 25-year-old male suspect was driving in the area when he made a sudden U-turn in the middle of the block, almost causing an accident. The complainant continued to drive past him and down the street. The suspect then conducted another U-turn to catch up to the complainant and cut her off causing her to stop. Once they were stopped, the suspect proceeded to exit his vehicle and damage the complainant’s vehicle. He was later located and arrested. He will appear in Court on November 14th, 2022, on a charge of Mischief to property.

Major Police Presence on Marquis Crescent

Earlier this evening, Brandon Police Service along with the Police K9 Unit were seen operating in the area of Durum Drive and Marquis Crescent in Brandon's south-end. A large perimeter appeared to have been set up, with numerous officers on-foot and in vehicles surrounding the area. A police K9 and their handler appeared to be tracking a suspect on foot, searching through yards and bushes in the area. At one point numerous officers could be seen running towards an area of Marquis Crescent where a takedown occurred with a suspect in a driveway. It is unclear what sparked this situation at this time.

The incidents occurred at the following locations: 100 block of 3rd Street 300 block of 3rd Street 400 block of 3rd Street 500 block of 2nd Street 400 block of 11th Street 300 block of 19th Street North Items stolen from within these locations included bikes, tents, and tools.

Police receive 6 reports of B&E’s to sheds and garages

Source: BPS News Release Police received 6 reports of Break & Enters to sheds and garages that occurred sometime overnight between September 13th and 14th.  The incidents occurred at the following locations: 100 block of 3rd Street 300 block of 3rd Street 400 block of 3rd Street 500 block of 2nd Street 400 block of 11th Street 300 block of 19th Street North Items stolen from within these locations included bikes, tents, and tools.  These incidents are still under investigation.  Anyone with information is encouraged to call BPS at 204-729-2345 or Crime Stoppers at 204-727-(TIPS) 8477.
