Traffic Stop Leads to Seizure of Cocaine and $5,000; Two Arrested

On September 21, 2025, at approximately 10:42 p.m., members of the Brandon Police Service conducted a traffic stop in the 100 block of 10th Street. During the course of the investigation, officers located and seized approximately 7 grams of cocaine and $5,000 in Canadian currency. The cash is believed to be proceeds obtained through criminal activity. As a result, a 39-year-old male resident of Brandon and a 38-year-old female from Sioux Valley were arrested and jointly charged with the following offences: Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Both individuals were released from custody on an Undertaking and are scheduled to appear in court on November 13, 2025.

Multiple Arrests Made During Police Walk-Throughs at Licensed Establishments

On Saturday evening at approximately 8:30pm, police were conducting a walk-through of a licensed establishment in the 100 block of 5th street when a male known to police was spotted in violation of court issued Release Order. The 38-year-old male was arrested on four counts of Failing to comply with his release order and he was held in custody to appear before court in the morning.  On Saturday evening at approximately 9:00pm, police were called to a licensed establishment in the 1000 block of 18th street for a female causing a disturbance.  The 31-year-old female was arrested on two outstanding warrants for her arrest and a charge of Failing to comply with her probation order. She was later released to appear in court in November. Early Sunday morning, shortly after midnight, police were conducting a walk-through of a licensed establishment in the 900 block of Pacific Ave when a male known to police was spotted in violation of his court ordered Curfew. The 37-year-old male was arrested on two counts of Failing to comply with his release order.  He was later released to appear in court in December. While conducting the above-mentioned arrest in the 900 block of 18th St, officers also observed a female who was known to be a curfew order.  The female was arrested and found to be in possession of a concealed Machete.  The 23-year-old female was arrested on four counts of Failing to comply with her court issued Release Order and one charge of Possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose. She was held in custody to appear before court in the morning.

Two Youths Arrested After Assault on Security Guard at 18th Street Business

At 12:37 pm, a call was received from a business in the 1500 block of 18th St stating there were males trying to fight with security. Two youths entered the property with one wearing a face mask and when asked to remove it the subjects became upset and assaulted the security guard by punching him. The suspects were apprehended shortly after in the area of 22nd St and Ottawa Ave and were arrested. The 17-year-old was charged with assault and was arrested on an outstanding warrant for assault with a weapon and breach of probation and was held for court. The 15-year-old male was charged with assault and later released on an undertaking.

Crime Stoppers Wanted and Crime of the Week for September 19, 2025

The Brandon Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance in locating this person who is: “WANTED BY POLICE”: Mayekan KEMATCH FOR Mischief Under $5000 / Fail to Comply with Undertaking Condition to Attend Court. On July 11th, 2025 at 11:21 p.m. KEMATCH was reported kicking vehicles parked on the street. Upon police arrival window damage was also noted. KEMATCH was on scene and arrested. He was released once sober on an Undertaking with a court date of September 15th, 2025. KEMATCH did not show for court and as a result a warrant for his arrest has been issued. CRIME OF THE WEEK for Sept 19th, 2025 The Brandon Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance in solving a Theft. On September 12th, 2025 police were notified of a package stolen off the front step of a residence. Hotel Struck, Home Invaded, Public Assistance Requested in Two Separate Incidents

Vehicle Stop Leads to Charges On September 19th at 2:08 a.m. a vehicle stop was conducted in the 1000 block of 6th Street. The back seat passengers identified themselves and it was found that the 21-year-old male had a Release Order with a condition not to be in contact with the other 34-year-old female passenger. He was arrested and held in custody for court in the morning with a charge of Failure to Comply with Release Order. During the stop grounds were developed to search the 34-year-old female and her purse.  12.5 grams of cocaine was found, along with unused packaging material, scale, cellphone, and $30 cash. She was arrested and charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine. She was released via Undertaking with a court date of December 11th, 2025. Hit and Run – Vehicle into Building On September 18th at 9:45 a.m. it was reported that a vehicle had just drove into a hotel in the 3500 block of Victoria Avenue, causing damage to the building. The vehicle proceeded to drive off. It was reported to be an elderly lady, driving believed to be a silver Kia Sportage. The situation remains under investigation and anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Brandon Police Service at 204-729-2345. Failure to Comply Probation On September 18th at 3:10 p.m. an officer conducted a walkthrough of an establishment in the 000 block of 10th Street and found a 25-year-old female who was conditions not to attend the establishment. She was arrested, charged and later released via Appearance Notice with a court date of November 20th, 2025.
