The Brandon Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance in locating this person who is: “WANTED BY POLICE”: Scott Crawford FOR Assault with a Weapon / Failure to Comply Probation. CRAWFORD is a 34-year-old male, who is wanted in connection with an assault and failure to comply probation charge that occurred on December 6, 2025, at a residence in the 1300 block of 7th Street. CRAWFORD had attended the residence, refused to leave when asked to do so, and threw a box at a female hitting her in the chest and shoulder.  CRAWFORD is on court orders not to have contact with the female without her ongoing consent. That would require a 11.3% increase in revenue, which for an average property owner would be an 10.6% increase in the municipal portion of their tax bill from last year. The 2026 proposed budget documents will be released on brandon.ca this week. Brandon City Council will deliberate the 2026 proposed budget as prepared by City administration on Fri, Jan. 30 and Sat, Jan. 31. Deliberations will be held in the Council Chamber on the 2nd floor of Brandon City Hall at 410 – 9th Street and are open to the public and media to observe. The deliberations will also be livestreamed via the City of Brandon YouTube channel and on WCGtv livestream at westmancom.com/tv/wcgtv. In addition, pre-budget meetings will also take place on Mon, Jan. 12, Thu, Jan. 15, Tue, Jan. 20, and Mon, Jan. 26 at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers. Breach of the Peace On January 5th at approximately 9:51 a.m., police responded to a disturbance at a residence in the 1600 block of McTavish Avenue. A 20-year-old male family member was reported to be intoxicated by drugs and causing a disturbance. He was arrested and held in the Brandon Police Service (BPS) detention cells and will be released once sober. Breach of Probation / Theft Under $5000 On January 5th at 11:14 a.m. police were called to a business in the 900 block of Victoria Avenue who reported that a 38-year-old female was in the store contrary to her court order not to be and was currently concealing items in her bag. Police attended the store, located the female and arrested her for Breach of Probation as well as Theft Under $5000. She was later released via Appearance Notice with a court date of March 2nd, 2026. Breach of Probation On January 5th at approximately 2:39 p.m., police observed two males, aged 31 and 33, arguing in the 800 block of Pacific Avenue. After being given several opportunities to leave the area, the 31-year-old male—who was bound by a No Contact Order on the other male—was arrested and charged. The male was highly intoxicated and was transported to Brandon Police Service detention cells, where he will be released via Appearance Notice once sober. A court date has been set for March 16, 2026. Arrest Warrant On January 5th at approximately 4:40 p.m., a traffic stop was conducted in the 1800 block of Aagaard Avenue. A 26-year-old male in the vehicle was noted and arrested on the strength of an endorsed Warrant for Arrest for Breach of Probation. He was later released via Appearance Notice, with a court date scheduled for February 2nd, 202

The City of Brandon is pleased to announce that repairs on the Civic Services Complex located at 900 Richmond Ave. E. have been officially completed, and staff are preparing to move back into the facility this week. This re-opening marks the end of a challenging period that began on Thu, Sep. 7, 2023, when an explosion caused major structural damage to the facility. During the closure, temporary accommodations were made at 382 Park Ave. E. to maintain services for residents. Starting Thu, Jan. 8, 2026, the Civic Services Complex will re-open to the public during regular business hours 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday. The complex serves as a hub for city departments and operations, including Brandon Transit, Building Maintenance, Fleet Services, Risk Management, Streets & Roads, and Underground Utilities. During this transition, part of the Operations team including Streets & Roads, Underground Utilities, and Public Works Administration will be available only by phone at 204-729-2285. Utter Threats / Possession of a Weapon On January 3rd, it was reported that while a male was clearing snow at a residence on Frederick Street, a neighbour exited their residence, threatened him with a knife, and uttered threats. A statement was obtained, and a 43-year-old male was arrested and charged accordingly. He was released on an Undertaking with a court date of March 16, 2026. Arrest Warrants In the past 24 hours, two additional warrants were executed. One warrant was executed at the request of the RCMP, with a BPS member attending Brandon Correctional Centre (BCC) to obtain a DNA blood sample from a 38-year-old male. The second involved the execution of an endorsed Warrant of Arrest on a 38-year-old male who was also Arson On January 4 at approximately 10:45 a.m., a neighbour contacted authorities to report a fire at an abandoned residence in the 1100 block of 6th Street. The fire was deemed suspicious and remains under investigation.
