The Brandon Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance in locating this person who is “WANTED BY POLICE”: Amy Goodon FOR Theft Under, Failure to Attend Court x3, Failure to Comply Undertaking On April 29th, 2025 police attended a business located in the 900 block of Victoria Avenue for a theft complaint. Amy Goodon had stolen merchandise from the business and was subsequently arrested for Theft Under $5000. Goodon has failed to attend court to answer to her charge, therefore a warrant for her arrest has been issued. CRIME OF THE WEEK for Sept 5th, 2025 The Brandon Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance in solving a Theft Under $5000. On September 2nd, 2025 police were notified of a pick pocket that occurred at a business in the 2600 block of Victoria Avenue. Assault with a Weapon, Resist Arrest

Assault with a Weapon / Resist Arrest On September 5th at approximately 2:42 AM, BPS officers responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence in the 400 block of 4th Street. The complaint involved a 30-year-old male attempting to assault a 24-year-old male with a screwdriver. Upon arrival, officers were met by the 30-year-old male exiting the residence. He initially resisted arrest. A screwdriver and a metal rod were recovered at the scene. The victim did not sustain any injuries during the incident. The accused was held in BPS detention cells and will appear in court in the morning. Possession of a Weapon / Theft Under $5000 On September 4th at approximately 6:00AM an employee from a business in the 1500 block of 1st Street reported a female was in the restaurant acting erratically and talking to herself. She had also been there the night before and had stolen merchandise. Police attended and found the intoxicated by drug female to be in possession of a knife. The female was arrested, held in BPS detention cells, and will be released via Undertaking once sober with a future court date of November 13th, 2025.

2025 School Board Trustee Candidate Nominations Now Being Accepted

The Senior Election Official for the Brandon School Division wishes to advise that the official nomination period for those intending to run for the position of School Trustee in the October 16th by-election begins tomorrow, Thursday September 4th and runs until end of the business day (4:30 p.m.) on Wednesday, September 10th, 2025. A full list of candidate nomination requirements can be found online at https://www.brandon.ca/votes. Candidates intending to file nomination papers are encouraged to book an appointment with Senior Election Official Heather Ewasiuk by calling 204-724-2654 to ensure their nomination documentation is processed prior to the above deadline. In addition to Election Day on October 16th, advance voting opportunities will be made available on October 8th and 11th at Brandon City Hall and the Pioneer Lounge at the Keystone Centre. An eligible voter may also apply to vote by sealed envelope if they have reason to believe that they will be unable to vote at their regular Voting Place on Election Day or during Advance Voting opportunities. Male Suspect Arrested After Attempted Stabbing on Princess Avenue

On September 2, 2025, at approximately 1:33 PM, an employee from a business in the 700 block of Princess Avenue reported that two males had approached two individuals, and one of the suspects attempted to stab them. The two approached reached safety unharmed, and the suspects left the area. Video surveillance was available, and witness statements were collected. A short time later, the 26-year-old male suspect was located, arrested, and charged in relation to the incident. He was later released on an Undertaking with a court appearance scheduled for November 6, 2025.
