Male suspect attempts to use counterfeit money, steals table

Theft / Possession / Counterfeit Money On July 4th at 11:36AM a manager of an establishment in the 700 block of Rosser Avenue notified police a male attended and tried to utilize a counterfeit $100 bill. When he was denied, the male stole a table from the establishment. Police were in the area and were flagged down. Police located the male nearby. Upon a search of his person, the counterfeit $100 bill was found along with a small quantity of heroin. The 34-year-old male was arrested and later released with a court date of September 9th, 2024. Assault/ Theft/ Resisting Arrest On July 4th police received a report of a male stealing items at an establishment in the 100 block of Victoria Avenue East. He ran out the door but tripped. Manager of the establishment advised male to leave the items and walk away, instead the male shoved the manager. The 32-year-old male was located and arrested by police. The male was currently under charge for an additional assault. He was lodged for court on July 5th, 2024.

“CRIME STOPPERS WANTED” for: July 5, 2024 The Brandon Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance in locating this person who is WANTED BY POLICE: Andre THOMPSON FOR Assault by Choking & Uttering Threats.  On April 20, 2023, Andre Thompson assaulted a female by throwing her against the wall and then proceeded to choke her after he had thrown her to the ground. While choking the female, THOMSPSON uttered the threat that he was going to kill her. THOMPSON was arrested and released, however has failed to attend court. THOMPSON’s whereabouts are unknown at this time, please contact Brandon crime stoppers with any information. CRIME OF THE WEEK for July 5, 2024 The Brandon Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance in solving a theft.  On July 4, 2024, two women’s mountain bicycles were locked to the bike rack out front of a business located in the 1500 block of 18th street. Two male suspects proceeded to cut the bicycle lock, steal the bikes and ride away. 5th annual Free Fry Day taking place in Brandon

WCG Raises Over $10,000 For Dauphin’s Watson Art Centre

Westman Communications Group (WCG) hosted a charity barbecue event in Dauphin on June 27, 2024. All proceeds went to the Watson Art Centre, a cause chosen by the residents of Dauphin. After a matched donation from WCG, the event raised $10,753.40. he Connecting Westman Tour is a community-driven initiative that allows WCG to serve its members and support the projects that matter most to community members. WCG served hotdogs and smokies from the Dauphin Rail Museum with donation-based pricing, which brought in $5376.70. On July 3rd at 7:30AM a 29-year-old female with outstanding Winnipeg Police Service warrants for Failure to Attend Court and Fraud, turned herself over to Brandon Police. She was lodged for court. On July 3rd a 27-year-old male turned himself in for a Breach of a Conditional Sentence Order to the Hamiota RCMP. He was released with a court date of August 1st, 2024. Distribution of Intimate Image On July 3rd police received a call that a 16-year-old male had distributed nude photos without permission. The male youth was charged accordingly and released to his mother. Court date is set for September 10th, 2024.
