Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

On August 6th at approximately 5:05 AM, a taxi driver reported that after dropping off five individuals in the 1300 block of Victoria Avenue, one of the passengers took the driver’s bag, which contained cash and receipts, upon exiting the vehicle. Police were able to quickly locate the suspects, and a 31-year-old female was arrested and charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime. The stolen property was recovered and returned to its rightful owner. The accused will be released in the morning once sober and is scheduled to appear in court on October 20th, 2025.

Notice of 2025 Micro Surfacing work in the City of Brandon

Starting Wed, Aug. 6, 2025, a contractor will be resurfacing various streets across the City of Brandon. The City anticipates road/lane closures during the work, which will take approximately one day to complete for each street being micro surfaced. Micro surfacing is a treatment used to extend the life cycle of weathered, pitted and raveling asphalt roadway surfaces. “No Parking” signs will go up one day in advance to notify nearby residents and businesses. Three individuals suspected of impaired driving.

On August 2, 2025, at approximately 6:30am police responded to a two vehicle MVA in the 2600 block of Rosser Ave.  One of the drivers, a 41-year-old male, provided samples of his breath and failed. On August 3, 2025, shortly after midnight, police conducted a vehicle stop in the 1300 block of Pacific Ave with a 34-year-old male driver who displayed signs of impairment, however he reused to provide samples of his breath. On August 3, 2025, shortly before 2:00 am, police conducted a vehicle stop in the 2000 block of 18th street.  A 22-year-old male provided samples of his breath and failed. All three drivers were issued a 90-day suspension, and their vehicles were impounded.

Assault with a Weapon, Take Vehicle Without Owner’s Consent

Assault with a Weapon On July 31, 2025, police responded to a report of an assault, where the suspect used a conducted energy weapon on the victim.  The suspect fled prior to police arrival. On August 1, 2025, police located and arrested the 39-year-old male suspect.  Upon his arrest, he was also found to be in possession of Meth. He was lodged and remanded into custody on charges of Possession of Restricted Weapon While Prohibited, Assault with a Weapon, Fail to Comply with Probation, Unauthorized Possession Restricted Weapon, Possession of a Restricted Weapon Knowing it’s Possession is Unauthorized, and Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking. Take Vehicle Without Owner’s Consent On July 21, 2025, a complainant reported that their vehicle had been taken without consent by an acquaintance on July 18, 2025, and caused the vehicle to be towed and impounded. On August 1, 2025, following a complaint of intoxicated individuals harassing patrons of the Keystone Centre High School Rodeo, police arrested several of the suspects.  One of them, an 18-year-old male, was found to be the suspect in the above noted vehicle complaint.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober and will be released to appear in court on October 9, 2025, on a charge of Take Motor Vehicle Without Owner’s Consent.
