Assiniboine Credit Union Partners with Brandon’s Iconic Keystone Centre

Assiniboine Credit Union is proud to announce that Assiniboine Credit Union Place and Assiniboine Credit Union Agricultural Centre are the new names of two major components of Brandon’s historic Keystone Centre. The naming rights were most recently held by Westoba Credit Union, which merged with Assiniboine Credit Union and Caisse Financial Group in January 2025. The Keystone Centre is a joint venture between the City of Brandon, Government of Manitoba, Provincial Exhibition of Manitoba and private donors like Assiniboine Credit Union. Woman Arrested on RCMP Warrant After Knife Incident

Endorsed RCMP Arrest Warrant + Various New Charges On July 14th at 5:07 PM, police responded to a report in the 2400 block of Ottawa Avenue regarding a female waving a knife around. The 34-year-old woman, identified as the male’s ex-girlfriend, had attempted to stab him and had also damaged a television and smashed the windshield of the 41-year-old male’s vehicle. Upon police arrival, the woman provided false identification, resulting in an additional charge of Public Mischief. She was arrested and held in BPS detention cells, with a court appearance scheduled for the morning of July 15th, 2025.  Charges: Endorsed RCMP Warrant of Arrest, Assault with a Weapon, Mischief Under $5000, and Public Mischief.' Theft of Motor Vehicle / Mischief Under $5000 As a result of the investigation into the golf cart theft on July 13th, a 38-year-old male suspect was arrested later that evening. During a subsequent interview, he admitted to the theft. He was charged and released on an Undertaking, with a scheduled court appearance on September 18th, 2025.

Shoplifter elbows employee during theft, golf cart stolen

Theft Under $5000 / Assault On July 13th at approximately 12:59 PM, an employee at a business located in the 800 block of 18th Street reported the theft of merchandise valued at approximately $200. When the employee attempted to intervene, the female suspect struck the employee in the chest with her elbow. A description of the suspect was provided, and responding officers subsequently located and arrested the individual. She was later released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on September 22, 2025. Theft Under $5000 On July 13th at 2:19PM it was reported that a golf cart had been stolen off a trailer parked outside a business in the 1600 block of Park Avenue. At 9:55PM police were informed that the golf cart had been spotted in the backyard of a residence in the 100 block of Frederick Street. Police attended the residence and located a 38-year-old male in possession of the keys to the golf cart. The male was arrested and brought to BPS detention cells for further processing.

Damage to Vehicle leads to Charges, Warrants Executed

Damage to Vehicle leads to Charges On Friday evening around 11pm, Police received a call of an intoxicated male kicking a parked vehicle in the 800 block of 6th St. causing damage to one of the windows. The 21yr old male suspect was located at the scene, arrested and held in the BPS cells and was released in the morning on an Undertaking to appear in Court in September. Warrants Executed On Friday July 11th at 4:55pm, Police conducted a traffic stop in the 1400 block of 13th St. The passenger in the vehicle was found to have an Endorsed Warrant for her arrest for Failing to Comply with her Probation Order. The 27yr old female was arrested and then released on an Appearance Notice with a Court date set in August. On Saturday July 12th at 1:40am, Police stopped a vehicle in the 400 block of 17th St. A 21yr old occupant was found to have multiple Warrants for her arrest. She was lodged in BPS cells to appear in Court in the morning.
