Brandon’s Progressive Conservative MLAs are welcoming an important investment in the Keystone Centre. A grant of $68,675 from the Building Sustainable Communities Program will be used to replace boards, purchase and install a dehumidifier, and to construct a new female change room for the Kinsmen and Enns Brothers Arenas. Source: Brandon Police Service Media Release Just minutes before midnight on October 15, 2019, police responded to a report of an individual who had been stabbed in the torso during a dispute at a residence in the 300 block of 15th street. The victim was taken to the hospital, treated for the injury and released. A 23-year-old female was arrested at the scene and lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre. She will appear in court today on a charge of Assault with a Weapon. Alcohol is believed to have played a factor in the dispute.

Source: Brandon Police Service Media Release On Saturday at 8:40 a.m., police received a report of a disturbance at an apartment in the west end of Brandon. The subsequent investigation revealed that a 21-year-old male from Brandon had assaulted his girlfriend by choking her during an argument. At one point the male armed himself with a crossbow which was loaded with an arrow, pointed it at the female and threatened to kill her, and then fired the arrow into the apartment wall. The male was intoxicated, and lodged at the Brandon Correctional Centre for release once he was sober. The male is facing charges of assault, assault with a weapon, uttering threats to cause death, and possession of a dangerous weapon, and will appear in court in December. He is on conditions to have no contact with the victim and not possess weapons.

Source: Brandon Police Service Media Release On Friday afternoon, a 28 year old male from Brandon was arrested for Sexual Assault, Sexual Interference and Supplying liquor to a Minor. The incident occurred few days prior and the victim was known to the offender. The male suspect was lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center to appear before a Justice for a remand hearing on Saturday morning.
