Source: Brandon Police Service Media Release During a traffic stop, police arrested two individuals for Possessing Methamphetamine.   Both of the individuals are also charged with breaching release conditions from previous charges.  The 21-year-old male and a 31-year-old female have been held in custody and will appear in court July 27th.

Female youth allegedly assaulted by 2 female youth who broke into her home

Source: Brandon Police Service Media Release Police received a report that at approximately 12:30 pm, two female youth broke into the home a third female youth by crawling through the window. Once inside the residence they assaulted the female who resides there. The female was punched several times before adults in the residence were able to intervene. The female did not require any medical attention. One of the females who committed the assault was arrested for Break and Enter and Commit Assault when she turned herself into police later in the day. She will appear in court on August 27, 2019. The second female youth will be arrested once located.

Two adult males face charges following recovery of stolen vehicle and prohibited weapon

Source: Brandon Police Service Media Release On Wednesday July 24, 2019 at approximately 11:00 am, police received a report of a suspected impaired driver in Hwy 1A, headed east into Brandon from Kemnay. Witnesses reported the vehicle traveling in the wrong lane into oncoming traffic. Further investigation revealed that the suspect vehicle was also stolen from the rural area of Boissevain, and police had reason to believe that the suspects involved may have firearms in their possession. At approximately 11:08 am, members attended to the residence of one of the suspects, and there located the stolen vehicle, a 1986, blue dodge pickup. It was parked at the residence and unoccupied. Police then set up a perimeter on the residence in the 000 block of 14th street N. while a search warrant was obtained. By 11:38 am, one of the suspects, a 34-year-old male, was in police custody. The second male suspect, a 22-year-old male, was not located until approximately 10:45 pm at a separate location, where he was taken into police custody. Shortly before 8:00 pm, police had acquired a search warrant for the 14th street N. property. Located was a sawed of shotgun, and the suspected matching piece of barrel. Further investigation led police to a rural area southwest of Brandon, where a broken down double barrel shot gun, and other property believed to be stolen was recovered. The investigation into this recovered property continues. Both suspects were lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre. The 34-year-old male faces charges of Possess Property Obtained by Crime, Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, Possess Weapon while Prohibited, Fail to Comply with Weapons Prohibition Order X 2, Breach of Probation X 2, and Breach of Recognizance. The 22-year-old male faces charges of Possess Stolen Property, and Breach of Undertaking. They will appear in court today.

Taxi driver allegedly punched in the face

Source: Brandon Police Service Media Release Shortly after midnight, police received a report of an assault, which occurred in the 1000 block of 18th street. A taxi driver was punched in the face by an individual who was not a passenger. The driver did not require any medical attention. The male who committed the assault fled the scene with several other individuals and was located approximately four blocks away. The 43-year-old male was arrested and will be appearing in court on September 9, 2019.

Brandon Police require assistance locating missing female

Source: Brandon Police Service Media Release **UPDATE** She has been located and is fine...... Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating 23-year-old Chelsea Lynn DUCHARME-LAGIMODIER. Chelsea is described native, with long brown hair, a fair complexion, and brown eyes. She weighs approximately 50 kg, has a slim build, and is 173cm tall. She was last seen wearing ripped blue jeans, a beige/pink ball cap, pink shoes and carrying a black backpack. She had with her a black mountain bike. Chelsea suffers from psychosis, and her family is concerned that her mental health has decreased significantly recently. Chelsea is not from Brandon, and has no known supports or connections in this area. She recently came to Brandon from Winnipeg. She was last seen at approximately 5:00 pm on Monday, July 22, 2019 in the 200 block of 8th street.
