Heavy snowfall expected to hit Brandon, seasonal parking ban in effect

Due to the expected snowfall, The City of Brandon has released a notice that a parking ban will be effect along designated snow routes, beginning at midnight tonight and ending the morning of Monday, January 7th. The snow routes are: - Rosser Avenue from 1st Street to 18th Street (24:00 to 08:00) - Rosser Avenue from 18th Street to 34th Street (24:00 to 08:00) - Rosser Avenue East from 1st Street to 13th Street East (24:00 to 08:00) - Princess Avenue from 1st Street to 18th Street (24:00 to 08:00) - Princess Avenue from 18th Street to Whillier Drive (24:00 to 08:00) - Princess Avenue East from 1st Street to 13th Street East (24:00 to 08:00) - Ninth Street extending from Pacific Avenue to Princess Avenue (24:00 to 08:00) - Tenth Street extending from Princess Avenue to Pacific Avenue (24:00 to 08:00) - Louise Avenue extending from 13th to 18th Street (24:00 to 08:00) Full details on the City of Brandon’s Seasonal Snow Routes can be found at http://brandon.ca/snow-routes

Brandon woman arrested after police find cocaine in her vehicle

Source: Brandon Police Service Media Release Just prior to 11:00PM last night a 24-year old woman was arrested after she was stopped in a vehicle in the 800 Block of Pacific Avenue. The drugs were located in the vehicle in plain view. She was lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center to appear in court today.

Saturday afternoon fire in Brandon

Shortly after noon on Saturday, Brandon Fire and Emergency Services and Brandon Police Service responded to a residence in the 500 block of Louise Ave for a structure fire. Upon arrival, fire crews observed smoke coming from multiple top floor windows in the three story residential building. Firefighter/paramedics stretched a hose line from #15 Pump up to the third floor to extinguish the fire. A large diameter hose line was connected to a nearby fire hydrant, but it was not charged with water. Firefighter/paramedics set up a PPV (positive pressure ventilation) fan to vent the residence of smoke. Thankfully, there were no injuries caused by this incident.

Brandon man arrested after allegedly stealing laptop, gaming console

Source:  Brandon Police Service Media Release A 36 year old man from Brandon was arrested and charged with two counts of Theft Under $5000 on Friday.  On two different days in late December, the man stole a gaming console and a laptop from a business in the 100 block of Victoria Ave East.  He was identified by surveillance video.  He was located, arrested and released to appear in court in February.

Brandon police catch break and enter suspects in the act

Source: Brandon Police Service Media Release  On January 3rd, 2019 at 9:34 am, police attended to a Break and Enter in progress at a residence in the 100 blk of 18th Street. Two males from rural Brandon ages 38 and 19 were arrested on scene as they were found removing items from the residence and loading them on a truck. Both males were released on a PTA to appear in Brandon Court on 2019-02-25.
